Its good that someone came forward to help. However, the city is wanting a sales tax increase to pay for ambulance service. They shouldn't need an increase because this is one of several well noted speed traps in Oklahoma.

Over and over it has been suggested that the already collected USE TAX could be the answer to funding STATEWIDE AMBULANCE SERVICE. The suggestion to at least investigate using the USE TAX to FUND AMBULANCE SERVICE STATEWIDE should be taken seriously but instead, no one in charge or in a position to crunch the numbers has stepped up to the plate. At the present, in my county, the commissioners are using the USE TAX in a way similar to discretionary funds. USE TAX is already collected. This could give a Senator or Representative "HERO's Status."

Speeding through town pays for the police department.

hey guess that still doesn't leave anything for Colcord. If we have to call 911, we have to wait for an ambualnce from somewhere else, and then where will the patient be transferred to? Siloam is the closest. Guess we should all in this part, take CPR, and first aid training and have a vehicle ready at any point to transport someome to the hospital. I really appreciate all that the EMS, Paramedics out of Siloam have done for us Colcordians, but hey you can't blaim them if Oklahoma isn't going to pay them. I have known of way too many runs out this way to where they have not transported a patient back and they don't charge for those runs. Maybe they could get a system set up to where if they have to make a run, they should get paid something for it. Not the high dollar charge but something to compensate for gas and time they took. Anways, i hope this all gets resolved and pray that there are no "REAL" emergencies. Happy New Year Everyone!

Hey, I have a novel concept... why not let those that USE the service PAY for the service!!! We need to quit "spreading the wealth around"!

Then we should do the same with fire and police services also. then again if you did that they would not exist!

we keep hearing rumors that only those in the city limits of west siloam, will benefit form this , so, what happens to the rest of us living close to Siloam, do we have ambulance service through this, or what??? thanks,

There was a rollover accident near Watts today that a Siloam Springs ambulance responded to.
I guess the whole thing about not servicing outside West Siloam was a bunch of crap.
