I noticed that this thread was eliminated on the Portsmouth topix site but still remains on the Wheelersburg topix site.

It will not go away by simply taking it down on topix.

What is going on Prosecutor's Office and/or Ohio State Patrol? When will we hear something? Who was the driver who left the scene of the accident? Was she a minor? Who owns the White Buick Rendezvous?

Did anyone see her hit Shawn and were there any witnesses? Who found Shawn on the side of the road?

Not sure of the truth, but I read somewhere where a woman said that her and her 3 kids seen it happen and she was one of MANY who stopped to check on him. This tells me that many seen it happen. Makes one wonder.

It is very easy to say "when you see something like that happen, get the license plate" Well, that would have been an ugly picture and I would say the people were more concerned about the victim who was hit rather than chasing a vehicle that ran after they hit him. Just an opinion.

Do any of you actually read/watch the news? The Patrol knows who hit him and their investigation is complete (the news even showed the SUV on TV).

Everything has been turned over to Prosecutor's office and they will present the case to the Grand Jury in the near future.

On the Wheelersburg thread there is a link to wsaz and their story. Unfortunately, wsaz removed the video that showed the suv.

The Prosecutor's Office is telling people that the investigation continues.

Is the Prosecutor's Office telling the truth?

We are and have been fully aware from the day that she turned herself in that the Patrol knows exactly who it is BUT they are not telling the public. Why? Suspects names are released all of the time. So before you go running your mouth, Question Man and I know much more about the case than you think we do. It is WHY are they hiding her identity and why was she not arrested for hit and run? I dont care about the grand jury making the decisions. I dont care if they arrested her and someone posted bail. The woman was never arrested! If she was arrested, I believe that by law, it has to be made public information. However, many are seeing that Ohio makes their own laws and do what they want.(At least this is how they portray themselves to the public).

They could care a less that hiding this woman's identity is only making the public more upset. I have no doubt that this was an accident and cant imagine how she feels. However, she still left the scene of an accident and that is illegal! Criminals are well known in society and you can get a mugshot ANYTIME anyone is arrested because it is public information. That is how every other state has operated in this tristate and I am really curious as to how Ohio is any different.

I do not practice law and I am not familiar with how everything operates. However, I know that hit and run is illegal and anyone else would have been arrested immediately! Something isnt right about this. Then again, I dont know why I am so shocked. On Decemember 15, 2012 a 23 yr old man DIED in the LC jail in Ohio (which is all over the news). Criminal or not, it is my understanding that the young man had begged for medical help for days and his mother had filed formal complaints with the Attorney General (if this is true). The autopsy report is back and the young man died because of a "infection in the heart" and more than likely is was due to his IV drug use. However, I dont believe that his crimes called for the death penalty.

How long does it take to do a count on all of the employees that work there and if they did, refused this young man medical treatment? The autopsy report is back and they know for sure if the mother filed a formal complaint. I am confident that the inmate witnesses would not be hard to find. Here we are 2 weeks later and everyone still has their job (to my knowledge). Is this acceptable? No, it isnt. Criminal or not, people have the right to be medically treated and not after they die. Chances are, with this young man's condition, had he been treated, he would still be alive.

My point, you dont see this nonsense go on in other states. What is the problem? While I do understand that investigations do take time, they dont take months for crimes as mentioned above. They are pretty clear and to the point. What more do they need for either case?

All that we can hope for is to see some justice soon for both cases because both of these cases have greatly upset the community!

Well I doubt you know as much about the case as me or else you would know that the victim's mother (and the rest of the family) is well aware of the driver's identity. And as a family member, I can tell you that this is our business and you nosey ass people need to simply mind your own goddamn business.

That is why YOUR family is asking me and everyone else for help isnt it. I know the mother and father know who it is and I doubt it is very smart of YOU to tell people on topix that the mother and father and "the rest of the family KNOW who it is" when they were clearly told NOT to tell! I am not talking to be talking. The community has the right to know when someone has hit and run and killed someone! With your attitude, I can see exactly WHY the police are not saying who it is to the community! And if it is just YOUR business, then tell YOUR family to stop reaching out to society and asking for help. I doubt his mother or father would appreciate your attitude when they are looking to the community for support! The community wants to see justice for Shawn!!

However, if you feel that it is all YOUR business, then good luck! When the driver doesnt get charged, I guess that will be the nosey ass people in society's fault too! Very sad situation and I still hope for Shawns sake that justice is served! Maybe you should think how important the public's support really is because I would say that YOUR family just lost quite a bit of support from YOUR comment! Best of luck and may this young man rest in peace :(

Didnt you read her post? It is none of our business! She has this all under control! I personally do not know who the driver is but I know that the parents know but they were warned not to tell and their family gets on here and announces that they all know! Real smart huh?

I have came to the conclusion that I have spent a lot of time and effort on this and there is obviously lack of appreciation, so I am done. Wish them the best! They obviously need it.

Why did she just drive away to let him die? An accident, maybe. But to drive away was no accident. That was purposefully.

You sure know quite a bit of nothing to be a family member! The investigation is NOT complete according to his MOTHER and she is sharing names of people doing the investigation with the public. So again, before you open your mouth, KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON! You dont have a clue! No, the mother is not saying "who" it is, but she is telling all involved in the investigation and possible charges but the investigation IS NOT COMPLETE! So show yourself some more "family member"

Question man, it is my understanding that the name will be released when she goes in front of the grand jury. How they can keep that is beyond me but I would say to protect her from IDIOTS!

ok nosey... just because her attorney from Greenup has people investigating doesn't count. The State submitted their evidence to the prosecutor (she showed me the Patrols report)... also nosey, you should know that the family is united to ensure justice is served and that the driver goes to jail... but we don't all agree on her plans to get rich from this horrible event.

It is called helping the family in which it is obviously that you are not included in that. This has nothing to do with Greenup County. So try again! I will be sure to let the mother know that you are posing as her famliy on here and disagree with her "plans to get rich" Maybe she will put you in your place. Someone needs to becuase you dont have a clue what is going on. This conversation is over. Maybe you should talk to the family before you speak for them.
