Anyone has any info on the condos and the neighborhood? Is it quiet? or am I better off in the city? How far is the metro north?

My sources tell me that it's a high transient complex, many low income families. Check further before you make any decisions. There is no Metro North station, you would be fairly close to NJ Transit, however.

Your sources are completely off base. It is a very nice community. A wide mix of young, newly starting couples, retired persons and families. Nothing transient or low about it. You'd be very happy there. Its peaceful and reasonable. Train and bus access are very close.

i wish i had visited this site before, laurie from Monroe is right. I lived right next door in another development and this is a very nice neighborhood. You can walk to the bus, it stops right in front of the entrance to the devel, the Metro North is 2 mins away, 5 mins from the thruway I87, close to shops in an upscale community - don't know who Tuxedo's sources are. I can help if you are still looking vdenis@optonline.net

Lexington Hills is a great starter/retirment community, very close to trains, planes & yes the commuter bus does stop at the entrance to the complex. The school district is Monroe Woodbury which is very highly acclaimed. There are several little condo complexes which you may like in the Monroe Woodbury area.I am a licensed Realtor, if I can help please email me at Kchipper@frontiernet.net or visit my website www.KimSellsOrange.com where you can view any listing in the MLS.... Good luck

A TRANSIENT complex? The place I rent is for $1,400 per month. I doubt highly that there are low income people living there- and if there are, they are all very nice and probably working their butts off just to make ends meet.

Lexington Hills is a very nice area- great people and a great spot to live in--the views are incredible if you get the top unit!

I just moved to Lexington Hills about 3 months ago and low income i don't think so. I live there with my husband who is a NYPD Narcotics Agent and my son. We love it and wouldn't move back to the city for nothing. I would highly recommend this development for anyone. The commute is not bad at all. I drive 2 miles to central valley park and ride and take a bus from there and i'm in the city in an hour.

A neighbor!(I think you're my next door neighbor) due to the description--not sure. My partner and I just moved here and we absolutely love it! The views alone, of the mountains and Hudson Valley is like living in a resort. I live in one of the top units. I've lived in other condos that were "considered" better----and were a complete mess!!! You can't beat the commute to NYC and best of all, we're right near all the shopping centers, yet not in the midst of it all. That would be funny if you were my next door neighbor!!!:)

P.S. Not to mention, the people that live around here are the most polite people ever! I highly recommend anyone who's looking for a place to live up here to check these condos out.

Lexington Hills Condominiums are beautiful, especially building 8 which is located in the back of the complex by the new pool because it is more private. There are great views of the mountains and we are a mile from the train station. Harriman is great because it is centrally located and close to shopping and restaurants. The maintenance fees are $350/mo. It is great for a single woman in her 30s. Chester is a little too far from everything. Actually, I think there is one for sale in building 8.... good luck with your search!!!!!!

Margaret thank you so much for the info. Does the 350 for maint cover water, trash or heat? Speaking of heat how is the heat in the units? Is $100 a month avg for the year to low?

Hey Vicky!! The $350/mo. includes trash/snow removal, grounds maintenance, use of pool, clubhouse, etc. They are doing a lot of updating in the complex such as new roofs and the new pool. The HOA fees do not cover water and heat. Yes, I would say the avg. heat costs are about $100/mo. The top floor units are nice with cathedral ceilings, skylights, and attics. All units are 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, walk-in closet in master bedroom, units have wood/gas fireplaces, and a balcony. Let me know if your daughter is interested in looking at them. One of my friends is selling theirs and would be willing to show her. I hope this helps.

There's really nothing that hasn't been said before. It's a nice neighborhood with friendly people. They are doing a lot of work in the complex to fix it up and when all the work is done it will be even nicer.

Vicky,
Mom still watches out for me and I'm 37! I'm actually a Realtor in the area and have access to all the condos for sale in Lexington Hills. I will be happy to assist your daughter in finding a place here. I am also certified in buyer representation. By the way, all the positive comments I am hearing on this site are totally on point! Lexington Hills is very nice, especially the top units, however, keep in mind that your heating bill will be higher if you are on the top floor because of the cathedral ceilings. Thank God for the fireplaces. My heat and electric came to $370.00 this month. They tell me it will lower as time goes on, but just be careful with your heat. Use the fireplace a lot during the winter months. Other than that, the community seems nice, from young couples starting out, families and the elderly. Very beautiful views. I'm in building 27 and I think it's great!:)

Hey, can somebody tell me more about the club house? What does it include and does it have an exercise room or gym? I never looked into it before. It's my second month here.
