Congratulations on your epiphany, Capt. Brown. If your recently discovered religious beliefs forbid you from bearing arms in the defense of our country, then so be it.
However there remains the little matter of your free four-year college education at West Point which we taxpayers funded in exchange for your promise to defend us as an officer of the US Army. Since you now find yourself unable to fulfill your end of the bargain due to your newly-acquired faith then I am sure that you will feel bound by those same religious scruples to reimburse us for the full cost of your four years at the Point to include tuition, room, board, clothing, laundry, etc. We will be happy to use that same money to prepare a deserving young American to serve in your place.
Kindly make your personal check payable to "The American People".

There are other ways Capt Brown could serve his country. There are all kinds of community services he could give the American people for his military obligation years, including assisting those who have returned from present war torn countries.

I see no mention of Capt. Brown expressing any interest in providing 'community services' to the American people, do you?
