You wouldn't know there was a shortage from the feet-dragging on commission approvals. I passed my boards six months ago and I'm still waiting for the surgeon's office to get through their "backlog" to approve my physical. No, their is absolutely nothing wrong with me either. I have perfect PT scores and zero flags and am already serving as an NCO. Its just incompetence and ineffeciencies. By the time I actually become a 2LT, I would have had time in to be a 1LT if I had been processed in a timely manner. Its unconscionable to do this to those few of us willing to do the job.
