Sounds more like you got something against Justin than what he did. I dont know who he is, dont care. We eat there every once in awhile and like it. Good food and service. Plus what else can u get around this poke town.

I too have witnessed him chewing out employess. I didn't know his name was Justin. However, if thats his name and he is the owner, than I won't be giving him anymore money either. Without the employees he would have a restaurant with food and no one to cook, serve, seat, etc...

If you work there and you don't like the manager, quit! Thats right, show him off. Don't accept his money!

My niece worked there. She said the management was very hard to deal with. From a personal standpoint...I dont like people being mean to my family....but from a consumers standpoint...the food was well worth the money.

I guess none of you have ever had a business or had to deal with "KIDS" working for you. You know colten's is an mostly a adult steak house and they want to have good service. I have eaten there some and I have no complaints with it. I agree with taking the chewing to the back and not out front. It is really hard to get good help anymore because of everyones atitude....

It's been a few years but, I worked in restaraunt management for a long time. Most people who ever worked for me are glad to see me around town and tell me I was a great boss. It is hard to get good help but, treating employees with respect goes a long way in getting good work out of them. Besides that, it is just the right thing to do.

Treating any employee like cra p gets you nowhere. Especially kids. And if they chew out employees in front of customers how do you think
they talk to them when the customers aren't within earshot? Been in business for over 20 years and never once did I treat anyone badly, nor chew them out in front of someone else.

sounds like the owner needs an ass chewing from a customer the next time that happens and see how he feels when the $$$$$ walks out the door. it is a bad way and 2 wrongs never make a right but sometimes mule minded folks need a club between the ears to get their attention. Im not saying break off a chair leg and hit the woner with it but these types understand money and where the money comes from and goes to is the only language they know. Plus it would be great to have that opportunity or watch it happen in front of a crowded dinner crowd.

Ok so the next time someone sees him chewing out an employee in a public fashion or in front of other employees even go up to him and kindly tell him how he should be handling it for example in private. I will if I see him doing it, you betcha

I worked there once, and during training the main thing to remember was, " dont do this or that because you'll get yelled at." And thats was true, you messed up, you do something that he is unaware of or inapreciate of, you get yelled at. The Managers there are awesome and they won't EVER yell at anyone, I only saw anyone seriously get yelled at once by a manager, but Justin will jump in your face for talking while working, doesnt matter if your faster than everyone else not talking, no interaction if he is in a bad mood, other times he will sit and talk with you and joke and be a great guy, i guess it depended on what his reponsibilities were for the night, if he had to deal with anyone he wasnt that happy, but if he was just there to watch over things he was nice to the employees. Also i heard about a person working there after me and they were given very low hours because they were in trouble, so instead of firing he just basically made him quit... idk if thats true but yeah.

I eat there a lot and have always been pleased with the food and the service. This place didnt exist two years ago and there was no where that 100+ kids could make that kind of money. I would guess that anyone on here would get tired if he had to run a business and keep that many kids in line.

It's all about perception. I worked at Coltons, I have been yelled at by the owners. I think it was unnecessary.I love the managers, defended them when others talked about them. I think it just depends on the day. You know, one day things are great... the next... not so much! Not sure why... you all can contemplate that. But yes the owners do yell at the employees in front of customer. As far as quitting... I did, but some people don't have that option... and the owners know that.

I had dinner there a couple days ago. What I found was shocking! For starters, people were smoking in the non-smoking section. There was stike one. Also, I heard one employee say to another, "If you don't start washing your hands when you are finished using the bathroom, YOUR nuts are going to be laying on the floor with all the rest of these nuts!". The poor kid sat the food on the table for the customers and started to cry. Strike two. While waiting what seemed to be an eternity to get a beer, I decided to walk back to the bar to see what the hold-up was. There was nobody at the bar, but I did hear some shouting from behind a door next to the bar. I poked my head in for a quick peek and to my dismay, I saw at least 20 Chinese kids who couldn't have been more than 10 years old slaving over dishes and carrying heavy trash containers out the back door. Well, there was strike three! I promptly entered the women's restroom, left a deposit in the sink, and left with my wife and three kids. We won't be going back there any time soon!

It's all about choice. When there are more people than jobs, owners/managers can treat employees in any manner they like. The employees can choose to either do their job the way it is suppose to be performed and brown-nose when necessary, or find a new job. No matter where you work, if you tick off management it will find a nondiscriminating reason to fire you. That's life. It happens in everywhere. The smart thing to do is always have another job in hand before deciding to mouth off or become lazy or slow in getting the job done.

There is no reason for any manager to chew out an employee in front of customers. It reflects poorly on management and business. Perhaps if we (the customers) complain when we witness management acting poorly, things will change?

Coltons, what a joke. I was thinking about startinhg a thread myself. Lousy, lousy service. The waitress we had was horrible. We left her a penny she was that bad. 45 dollars for a meal that wasnt that great.I will never go back there. It was by far the worst service I had ever had. The waitress was such a dumbass.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Gemini

Mercury will backtrack through your finances over the next few weeks, which isn't a very seasonal thought if you're already well aware that you've overspent this month. Be prepared to do some juggling or to seek expert advice if you're worried about how you're going to cope. You may be kept busy handling inheritance, tax or insurance matters, preparing investment analysis, and allocating funds for the repayment or collection of debts.
