When I go to a Dr,I want to SEE that Dr,not some over zealous nurse practioner who thinks they are smarter than Einstein, EXCEPT when in the precense of the Dr they're working under, then their 'yes sir''yes mam''oh ok I'm sorry, I didn't hear that'...when the bill I'm charged has a DOCTORS name on it that I 'seen' that day, isn't that insurance fraud? Doctors have, schooling, training, experi ence, and the NP argueswith what the Dr has told you, every damn time!!! Doctors, DO YOUR JOB!!!!

They have nurse practitioners seeing patients to speed up the wait time. Which in most cases, it doesn't seem to help much because there always seems to be an overwhelming amount of people waiting to see a medical professional.

Nurse practitioners have adequate education and medical experience to help people.

Also, you have the right to see a doctor if you don't feel comfortable with a nurse practitioner.

I don't see a problem with any nurse practitioners. ask yourself this, Who does all the work in a doctors office, The nurse. In the hospital, The nurse. All nurse practitioners are supervised by a doctor and the doctor looks at everything they do to any patient. I don't see anyone complaining about a D O doctor. They don't have as much education as a MD. A nurse practitioner identified my skin cancer and sent me to a skin doctor for removal and everything she told me about this cancer the doctor said the same thing. I love that nurse practitioner and am always going to have respect for all nurse practitioners because they arn't stupid they are educated they where a nurse first which means they have something any doctor will never have and take the overwhelming load of bullshit off the doctors. I support all nurse practitioners and don't support obama care ever.

Who takes your vitals, blood p and pulse an temp? The nurse and then the doctor reads that info just like a doctor reads what a nurse practitioners does. I can see your point of wanting to see a doctor but don't forget where you live and see these doctors. this makes a big diffrence on why there are alot of nurse practitioners and D O doctors around here. I am sorry but some of these doctors around here shouldn't be doctors. There are some doctors around here that mis things on patients that the nurses catch, thank GOD and tell you to go to springfeild or somewhere else. I had one doctor from down here tell me after my wifes operation for me not to make any future plans with her because she was dieing. she was dieing at the time because the idiot didn't give her potasiam I think it was called and the thing your supposed to give after an operation and the nurse caught it and that was 9 yrs ago and she is still here today because of that nurse. Thank You nurse! My wife, 43 yrs old at that time. So the score is, Nurse 1 doctor 0 on that one but think of the 9 yrs this idiot has been treating patients around here. all I can say is pray for his patients and their family members. So nurses arn't so bad.

A nurse practitioner isn't simply a nurse. They have had extensive medical training. Frankly, I think if you want to be a doctor but don't have the 6 figures to pay for it then a nurse practitioner is the next best thing...for a fraction of the education and insurance expense.

It has been my experience that when I have seen a nurse practitioner instead of a doctor my bill was slightly cheaper than when I see my actual MD for the exact same thing. And more importantly, the nurse practitioners ALWAYS ask more questions, take my concerns seriously, and spend much more time with me than the doctor. However, if it really bugs you then request to see the doctor when making your appointment.

When you are sent to a 'specialist' you go to see just that! Not a nurse practioner!! I'm not saying there aren't some good ones, but they are not a specialized dr!

Obama care is gone in a few short months from now when Obama himself is gone. Vote Republican because if you don't and he stays another 4yrs their won't be enough doctors left to see everyone because the doctors don't have to accept Obama care/medicaid and we all can see the new Obama care goverment employed panel of experts with no medical training. You think the wait time is long now at OMC emergency room, Just wait til this happens and you better own an RV to park in the emergency room parking lot because your gunna be there awhile. Obama needs to go, doctors need to stop with thinking their shit don't stink and the nurse practitioners need to keep doing the fine job their doing. AMEN.

If you think you've been seeing more and more doctors from India and the rest of the Middle East & Africa, Obamacare will bring in a whole lot more with adjusted requirements for those seeking a license to practice...as long as they are applying from most favored nations.
Be prepared to be assigned to a clinic where you have no choice in the matter, learn how to understand someone with thick Aramaic and Swahili accents, and if you're a local community pharmacist, sell your business now, because the entire nation will be turning to a minimum 3 month supply mail order that comes from somewhere besides the USA. About the only thing you will be able to buy at a drug store by the end of 2015 is over-the-counter stuff. Walmart pharmacies will probably be able to keep up since they prefer hiring immigrant workers, but even their pharmacies may end up as a kiosk type ATM machine where you slide your card, put in your personal info, then go home and the drugs will be delivered by either the post office or UPS.(If you think mailbox vandals are bad now, you haven't seen nothing yet)
Billery Clinton wanted these changes when they were in office, but didn't have the same ties to Muslim Countries that Obama does.
This is the kind of nation we have brought ourselves to live in, where we want a button to push for the government to come and solve all of our problems for us.

Actually, DO's have MORE training than MD's. you can look that fact up rather easily. I love NP's but they are NOT even close to the skill and knowledge level of a doctor.

A Nurse Practitioner from West Plains found my Cancer and sent me to a Cancer Dr in Mnt Home and I thank that Nurse everytime I look in the mirror and see that scar on my face. She no longer works in West Plains but in Mnt Grove I do beleive. I can't and won't say anything negative about a Nurse Practitioner or any Nurse for that matter because if it wasn't for them, Doctors couldn't make it like they do with them around. Her name is Connie ??? and was trained under DR Newton. I wish she was still in West Plains.
