Can anyone tell me where I can find information on the big fire from the early 1900's that killed many students during prom. I have searched online and I can't find anything.

if your talking about west plains i think it was a propane explosion that killed a bunch of adults at a dance or the town was burnt down during the civil war days then the big cemetery behind grace ave has the big grave site for these victoms of that explosion

There was the Bond Dance Hall explosion and Lin Waterhouse has written a book. It happened in 1928. Several young people were killed, including many of the towns influential families. Hope this helps.

How in the hell can someone look on the internet for information about it, and not find anything? If all you did was read the wikipedia page on the town of West Plains, the explosion is one of the first topics covered.

That may be true about the Native Americans. We have so many creeks and hills and rivers. They built a library over a spring for goodness sake! There seems to be no real culture here. Just poor folk and the rich or lucky middle class that knows the rich bunch. I do know that is true. Real clichish around West Plains. Lots of negative energy I'm feeling all over this place lately for sure.
