yes we bought a car from them 3 years ago. told us to bring it back in a year and trade up. that did not happen. the car had normal wear and tear, but the water pump blew out ant took out the engine too. it was a dodge stratus. tried to deal with them again and they gave us a hard time, so we played them out and diciced not to pay what they wanted.

I bought a vehicle from them. A $16,000.00 vehicle. 3 weeks after I got it the transmission went out! They said "it wasn't their fault". I pointed out the Lemon Law and the fact they lied about John Morlan not owning that business and after them getting mouthy they finally agreed to fix,not replace, transmission. 6 months later other major problems came up and they said I didn't buy the $1,500.00 dollar warranty so tuff shit!!!!

Ok first of all when a car is sold AS IS, then doesn't matter if the motor blows up pulling out of the dealership, they don't have to do anything for you. Lemon law does not apply with one single problem on a vehicle. All cars once purchased and drove off lot will lose an extreme amount of value even if you go back the next day. This is just the used car business and will happen anywhere. Jake's father is the Sales manager for Morlan Shell so that's how he got the job. Seriously though people you need to understand how used car sales work. Your bitching about things that's pointless to worry about. Nothing will change, it's just how the type of business works...

Oh no, you are wrong. used cars are covered under the unwritten, only spoken to special individual, silent warranty. If they are not, sue the dealer. Scream. Shout. Throw a hissy. They will fix anything if you tell them you know about the super secret warranty.....

right.

Even IF sold as an AS IS vehicle, the dealership should want to fix the vehicle. I would want the customer to be happy and come back for future vehicles. That is good business. Otherwise, they complain to an entire community and everyone knows word of mouth is the worse or best advertisement. What is a few thousand off your incoming thousandsssss to satisfy a one out of 20 cars gone wrong to make a good name for yourself?
Again, just good business.

I worked for southern hills, I know the owners, and I can tell you there not out to rip off the public. There their tying to make a living just like everyone else. They buy cars, they sell cars. They buy cars just like you, they have them inspected, they mark them up usually 500 to 1000 over what they pay for them and put them on the lot. If one has a problem, they will fix it. Its not like they are intentionally buying vehicles with problems. And if you think your getting ripped off, do some research before you buy. What people can't seem to get through their heads when they trade in cars is trade difference. Not what they are getting for their car, not what the dealership is selling their car for. if you have a 1970 green gremlin and there going to give you $8000 trade in value for their 2005 Chevy truck, that's great for you! Just make sure their not selling the truck for $50,000 people seem to lose their mind when they are out car shopping. Vehicles aren't an investment for the majority, your going to lose money. Doesn't matter how clean you keep them, doesn't matter what rims you put on them, doesn't matter how much it means to you, its what Kelly blue book says its worth.
