Let go? Fired? Same thing rite. No real reason, kinda sad. He is quite the guy, and as much as they say it was a mutual agreement IT WASNT! Chuck Loved his job, and wouldnt quit after twenty sum years. Sad that they do this rite before he has his surgury. Makes me think that they just didnt want to have to pay out on the insurance. But I dont know for sure. I miss hearing him on the radio, and cannot wait to hear him on K Kountry. Wishing him well!

Chuck was given a very attractive severance package when he left ORN. ORN Stood by him while he had a number of health related vehicle accideents, and lots of health problems.

Say what you want about Tom, but he took care of Chuck very well.

Chuck left by his own choice.

Tom has always been fair to me in my business dealins with him. It is pretty common that anyone who is successful attracts people who like to b*tch.

Have to agree with you there. Him and his bad boy military haircut and the way he looks down his nose at people. Maybe he does have a heart after all.

I am a close friend of Chuck and Tom and have spoke with both of them concerning Chuck's layoff. It had nothing to do with Chuck's health. I have never heard Chuck talk negative about Tom or Ozark Radio Network, nor has Tom spoke negative of Chuck. They are both wonderful assets to the community and consider each other dear friends. Chuck's health has been on the decline for the past several years. The end of his "full time" career in radio was inevitable. Also, no one could have ever predicted the severity of Chuck's wound on his foot. His doctor's have been telling him for years to quit work and go on disability. There is no one to blame - for those who made negative comments - you should be ashamed of yourself for not knowing the facts or the people involved well enough to respect a very delicate situation between two long time friends. Chuck is currently working on Saturday's only for one of Ozark Radio Network's (old) sister stations K-Kountry 95. He is truly a legend in the Ozark Community. Show your support by attending the fundraiser for him and his family.

Chuck has been broadcasting at the train. 100.9 fm.
It is our hope and prayers that Chuck's shows will be a success. It is supposed to be next week unless he has a setback.
I know Gary Lee over at 100.3 and he is a good guy. I can't imagine anyone over there doing anyone wrong.
I was however disappointed that KUKU went country.
KHOM The Train is making up for that with the same format as KXMO 95.3 Cuba Mo.
My family who has been friends of Chucks family for generations is always asking about Chuck.

I'm very sorry to hear your dad is having bad health problems. my memories as a teenager was listening to kdy and Chuck Boone, you could tell in his voice he loved his job and was damn good at it! I've often wondered what happened to him/where he went. Please let him know he still has an audience that remembers his radio show and the great music and comedy he put out for everyone. God bless him and heal him.

Chuck Boone now works at 100.9 The TRAIN. He is supposed to return to his show after he has surgery to remove a growing tumor in his chest. I think he is having surgery in St. Louis in a couple of weeks. Talked to someone he goes to church with and they say it might be a while due to seriousness of surgery and outcome. He has said he really loves working at the training even though it's limited due to his poor health.
