WEst Plains Vet (the ones past wal mart) are the cheapest and the best. I won't take my dogs anywhere else.

This is a common thing in shih tzus. I had one that had the same problem once. I know I used teramycin on it regularly, but I think he had to have something else to. I don't know which vets take payment plans, but if you qualify for carecredit, west plains vet takes that and you can make payments to carecredit. You can go to carecredit.com and apply. If you don't get it taken care of, he could eventually lose his vision. I am sorry I couldn't help more. Best of luck to you.

I like the vet place by the Fairgrounds, Dr. Talburt & Dr. Gunter. I don't know about payment plans, but they are very good.

Have u been using human eye drops on the dog? That can cause blindness in animals. Id do a little research before using products meant for humans.. hope ur dog is ok tho

Please go to dr talburt and dr gunter up by the fair grounds! They will sign you up for a carecredit credit card for your puppys treatments. Please dont take your puppy to west plains vet past walmart! The vet there geoff green has killed several families beloved pets! He has killed at least 2 chihuahua mommys during c-sections one was finally revived but not before it caused lasting problems but the other was not as fortonate! One of which i know for sure he gave her WAY too much anestetic before her surgery cause he was on his cell phone with a buddy talking about the boat fishing trip he should have been home packing for instead of doing an emergency c-section on a dog! And thats only half of the story, i could keep going and tell all of what he did wrong but i would be here all day!

I know that west plains vet has saved my animals from the brink of death several times. I also know that i didn't have that type of luck at talburt. at all.

Talburt is a great vet! He doesnt just keep giving your beloved pets more and more anestetic just cause they arent going to sleep fast enough to suit him! You dont give enough anestetic to a 3 lb chihuahua to put a horse out! I know at talburts they treat your beloved pets like their own!
Talburt is knowledgeable, but all he cares about is "money" and this is from personal experience. He does not do what is best for the pet unless what is best for the pet is the most "expensive" option. He is also the most arrogant of the vets down here. Also my opinion.

At least he doesnt kill peoples beloved pets especially in front of their human friends! Uhum...Like a young boy then after she is finally revived she's never been right again! Plus Talburt's NEVER made me or my young son assist him with our dogs c-sections, the reviving, of the puppies, or the reviving of our dog after he admitted that he (green) gave her TOO much anestetic! Talburt knows his stuff and saves the lives of peoples pets he doesnt kill them or mess them up for life! You know if i hadnt told green that i didnt think my dog was breathing she wouldnt be here now cause we wouldnt have been able to revive her! All cause he was more intrested in talking on his cell phone the whole time we were doing the c-section on my dog complaining about having to come in to do the c-section saying how he should be at home packing and hetting ready for their boat fishing trip! Im sorry but if someone has my dog whom i treat and love like family cut open he should have ALL his attention on her not on the phone gripping about her to a buddy! My beloved pets ALWAYS get the attention they need and deserve at Talburt's animal clinic!
So if you really dont care about your pets and just think oh its just an animal then go ahead and take your pets to wp vet and let green kill them but i love my pets and my pets are like part of the family so my beloved pets will continue to go to Talburt's where they are saved not killed! Remember my beloved dog isnt the only one he has killed and or messed up for life!

Let's do a poll...

WHO HERE HAS LOST A BELOVED PET BECAUSE OF THE INNCOMPATENCE OF GREEN AT WP VET (PAST WALMART)?

WHO HERE HAS A BELOVED PET WHO IS NOW MESSED UP FOR LIFE BECAUSE OF THE INNCOMPATENCE OF GREEN AT WP VET (PAST WALMART)?

WHO HERE HAS A BELOVED PET WHO WAS KILLED, REVIVED AND MESSED UP FOR LIFE BY GREEN AT WP VET (PAST WALMART)?

What happend to us and our friends chihuahua also at wp vet by green's hand was 110% unacceptable! If i can save one just one beloved pet from being killed or messed up for life by this man or save one just one family from the heartache he has caused us and many other families i will! I just cant believe people care so little of their pets that they continue taking them to him or that the vet clinic continues to employ him there after knowing the stuff he has done like nothing ever happend! As i said just wait one day it will be your pet that he kills or messes up for life then you can come back and say now i believe you cause he did it to my pet too but i wont tell you that i told you so cause i know the heartache from the loss/now lost brain cell pet that he has caused! I will just say IM SORRY!

I completely agree with you. I ONLY use Dr Gunter at Talburt's. He will give you options for procedures or tests but does not push them on you or make you feel bad when you say no. He seems to be very understanding about trying to keep pet costs down. I get some of the meds for my dogs through 1800PETMEDS and Dr Gunter not only doesn't mind but he has always ok'd the prescription the day I ordered through PETMEDS. I also have alot of respect for him for seeing the sense in euthanizing a terminaly ill animal instead of pumping them full of meds for as long as possible regardless of the lack of quality of life the animal will have.

Ok, we get it. You are unhappy with Dr. Green, but I can promise you the other two vets at West Plains Vet are the best and truly care for your pets. Dr. Green saved my yorkie from the brink of death and never complained, but apparently you had a different experience and I would be upset too. Sorry you had to go through that.

I have raised dog all my life and with one who had matted eyes or yucky ones I have always used human stuff for them usual cheap eye drops. My sister is a vet and says it will not make them go blind just to clear that up. Also u can go to any pet food\livestock store and get meds for your poor pup.. u need some antibotic ointment for the puppies eyes it comes in a small little tube the people at the desk should know what it is. Growing up with these animals and always working with them, then having my sis who is a vet it really helps. U should also check into his shots. And make sure he doesn't has distemper but then they will put him on amoxil for a week and he will be fine. And its the same stuff they give kids 250mg/5ml and u only give them 1ml per 5lbs.

first of all! if you are breading a chihuahua then it is not your beloved PET! nobody would put a beloved pet chihuahua through pregnancy knowing the risk of that breed and doing it for your own financial gain!
