I guess my feeling is how do you know if that person is attached or does it matter? What do you consider casual, no info passed between you, no ties,no feelings, etc...

Other than deviant acts of sex (pedophilia, rape, etc) why is any sex illegal. If a woman or man wishes to sell their body for sex and a person is willing to pay I don't see it being a crime if the aforementioned prostitute pays taxes.

Of course casual encounters is how AIDS and other STD's get spread around.

If you are involved in a consistant relationship or affair, someone always gets hurt unless the people involved are uncaring, unfeeling, and is that what you really want?

so what if you just hook up and have sex? Is that a problem if you both are unattached?

What about a threesome or moresome? If everyone agrees, and all are unattached, is that a problem?

i don't happen to see a problem with casual sex, but the problem is that both people don't just outright express that it's just sex.

I have been burned by one guy in particular that says i want a relationship and then turns around and finds someone else to screw or has to get drunk to be with me. WTF? Can't be man enough to be with me without drinking?

I guess that would depend if you were ok with threesomes or more. I personally wouldn't want to be involved in a threesome or more, it seems very impersonal to me.

People TALK about casual sex as though it's a crime. But they ACT like abstaining outside of marriage is one. Think about it. If that's your chosen behavior, how difficult is it to find someone to date? VERY.

Of course. Wouldn't want to be sending any "mementos" home with them, or taking any home with me. It's the least I can do, really. I'm not entirely heartless.

Then be woman enough to tell him "NO!". Have some self respect for yourself and don't let him use you. Stand up for yourself or he is just gonna keep doing it. Not tryin to be rude, but it sounds like he treats you like that because you ALLOW him to. Just sayin...

Morality can not be legislated. Not every one believes in God. In many ways we are sexual degenerates because of both trying to make us feel bad for wanting to have sex.

Lust resides in the heart of all people. If it didn't we wouldn't keep reproducing. We find comfort in sex. Makes us feel wanted. Even those one night stands.

Sex is a powerful drug. Maybe the most powerful. However, when not being demonized, its not a bad thing for most people. It creates a very strong bond.

There's NOTHING "casual" about sex. I may only be 18 and know practically nothing about sex, but I do know that, personally, I'd rather have feelings stronger than "you're cute, and I'm horny" going on before I sleep with someone. Just my opinion though. ;/

I took a human sexuality class in college and we talked about this. It's because our Judeo-Christian society has placed a negative stigma on sex in general where the only "acceptable" form of sex is between two married heterosexual people (missionary style, of course) for the purpose of procreation. Christianity labels sex as wrong and immoral and deviant but science has shown that we are, by nature, sexual beings. Personally, I don't think there is anything wrong in casual sex. It goes down to personal responsibility. What two consenting adults do in the privacy of their own bedrooms is nobody's business but their own. Notice I said consenting and adults, which throws out rapists and pedophiles. I agree with "Son" about prostitution. It should be legalized because, again, what two consenting adults do with each other isn't the government's concern. Sure, you'll have the Christian/culture warriors preaching about how it's a sin and how sex is evil and how the urges one feels is "Satan," and the moralists preach about STDs and AIDS. I'm obviously not saying that people shouldn't worry about STDs and AIDS, because they should, which goes down to personal responsibility again. "Abstinence only" is a joke and does not work (just ask Sarah Palin's daughter about that). Teenagers today ARE going to have sex. Placing negative stigmas on it is just going to make them want to do it even more (just like drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes). I think parents need to move past their embarrassment and really talk to their children about sex and teach personal responsibility to them. Sex education classes are vital to this in public schools. "Son" and I are on the same page, it seems. You cannot legislate "morality." We need to lose this notion that by keeping condoms out of our schools that teenagers won't have sex, because they will, and if you preach that condoms are bad and they still have sex, this is going to lead to an increase in teen pregnancies (which result in a higher number of high school dropouts) not to mention an increased risk in STDs.

Seriously, the sooner we as society lose all of these negative stigmas associated with sex, the better off we will all be. And, as for spouses cheating on their spouses, well, marriage is the number one cause of divorce, and again, for all the cultural/Christian warriors out there preaching about the "sanctity" of marriage when it comes to homosexuals, I say to them, if you want to preserve the sanctity of marriage, you should outlaw divorce. Stop picking and choosing "sins" to condemn while upholding others. From my understanding of the Bible, no one "sin" is greater in the eyes of God than another (besides murder).

So to answer your question, casual sex is not a crime. I'm a 24-year-old male and I engage in it quite often. If you're young, hung, hot and horny, if you got it, flaunt it. I am safe when it comes to my sexual partners and get tested repeatedly for STDs and AIDS. I am not embarrassed or ashamed. Oh, and to label a guy as a sex addict is like labeling water as wet. Like Billy Crystal said, "Women need a reason to have sex. Men just need a place."

and this is completely your choice... say No if its not what you want. But don't run someone else down if it is what they want. they have choice too.

Good for you. I think that's great.:) I won't condemn anyone having casual sex because it's their choice and their business if they are consenting adults. I don't think teens should be practicing this at all. I was like you. I waited and I spent a long time with my "first" and I don't regret it at all. Sex is great, but is nothing to get in a rush over.
