just pool your money. Buy a keg and some vodka and get together at someone's house and have a BBQ. The drinks are going to he cheaper and you won't have the expense of running a bar.

The place would be burnt down. Why oh Why can't you sick animals just be normal. It is much easier to be normal than to try to be abnormal. Move to CA if you want to ruin people's lives. We won't stand for it here.

I agree how about a dog and man night or cat and man night where dogs and their owners that are in love can meet and do the dirty.

Im talking about a LGBT group kind of like NA at common bond. You know, Offer support for people, Have meetings and just offer a safe haven for the gay community to come... And not just for LGBT but a place for others to come as well. I wasnt talking about a Gay Bar.lol

I love this idea. Especially in such a backwards area. Haters will inevitably hate. But I think it could do a lot of good for those who feel isolated and repressed because of their orientation. Maybe even a GSA club?(gay-straight alliance) to include more people for a support system.

I tried starting a GSA at the high school all four years and they fought me on it. So good luck with that.

I was assuming this wasn't going to be a school sponsored club. Just a group of like minded individuals who get together to be there for one another?

Someone start a Facebook group. Those interested can join. Then plan a meeting. My club is having a fish fry this weekend.

sking us to be straight is like us asking you to be gay. Normal is nothing but a word. Being gay is starting to become the norm now so we are already there;) So sir... how come you cant be normal and just come to our side. You damn straighties just dont know how to get over your self do you? And yes, West Plains will stand for it. LGBT West Plains chapter is already on its way :)

Actually, just sayin'- my partner and I are very out and open. We hold hands in WalMart and flirt affectionately with each other the same way many hetero married couples do, and we get NO negative reactions at all. West Plains is remarkably friendly to the LGBT population. We moved here from a community that has a domestic partner registry, is nationally known for its' "gay-friendliness", and we feel not only safe, but more included here in West Plains. Because people here don't see as as anything special, but rather... nothing out of the ordinary. We're just another face of normal. Or that's how we're treated. There's no reason for us to be "out loud and proud" because acceptance is already the standard.

Of course, that's as thirty-something adults. I imagine the younger crowd, especially the teens, would probably tell a different story. I think there should be *something* out there for LGBT teens to know that they're safe and accepted and loved. I would rather see efforts towards a resource center and safe space, and I would put my energy toward that. A nightclub... out here... there are too many risks, not the least of which are irresponsible young adults taking risky moves - whether that means driving drunk or going home with the wrong person. WP needs to be established as a safe place first before a bar/club can be opened.

Though, I would really like there to be a centrally-located affordable place to drink on occasion. A place where I could walk home after drinking a martini that didn't cost me $12. But it doesn't have to have a rainbow theme or be gay-oriented at all. Hell. Just put one of those gay-friendly establishment stickers on the door, and pass them around to like-minded businesses, like these guys in Phoenix: http://www.azcentral.com/community/phoenix/ar...

You can even order stickers on cafepress for cheap! http://www.cafepress.com/+gay-friendly+bumper...
