Yes me also. If you confess you are sent to the state as fast as you can go to make room and take away the cost to this County. I would think thats the way it would work, not spend over a yr in this jail house.

I know overcrowding is a serious problem with the prison system.
I don't know if this was the case with him or not but it might have been.

Wrong. A confession and guilty plea are two different things.

How can a confession and guilty plea be diffrent? If you plead guilty to a crime then you just confessed to that crime. Are you talking about detail of the crime?

smh is referring to the minutae of definitions.

While confessions can be coerced it's extremely difficult to get out of.

Remember ladies and gentlemen, if you didn't do it, never, ever, ever say that you did.

Go away Democrat, Gravedigger, truth, Blind Sheik, or whoever the heck you are going to be this week. You just like to keep the post stirred on every single topix often while contradicting your own opinions within the same thread. Since you seem to think you know everything you should know that people often confess yet plead not guilty once they realize how much time they are facing and they are unable to get a deal from the prosecutor.

Even if you confess to a crime you are still given a trial. You do not go straight to sentencing. Therefore you will be in county while waiting for that trial.

I know how the system works and also know how this county system works. Waiting for a sentencing doesn't take well over a year unless the county is letting someone stay here to be closer to family longer. I see nothing wrong with this practise when the person is going away for life either. But to be in a county jail for well over a year and then kills himself, someone had to see a sign or two this person maybe needed alitle mental help.

I think it was obvious he needed mental health help. He killed a child, clue one.

Do we know he killed himself for certain?

Well no we don't know for certain, you are right, but he was a young age and seems he wouldn't of died in his sleep unless he was sick with a bad heart or other disease at that age and when some go into a jealous rage they do stupid things like kill a child, hence mental problems.

I Knew Eric on the inside. To top all this off he was in a holding cell. He looked to me to be in good health and had not problems. He did give me information on the other death of BJ Hays who was a very good friend of mine. His wife and I are like sisters. To me it sounds like an inside job not of natural causes.

Well if you don't kill children you wont be in jail.....I feel for his family but he seemed like a real piece. As for the conditions of the jail....you can't expect the Ritz when you are being punished. Just like I tell my children, if you do something wrong I am NOT going to spoil you.
BTW: Guilty plea and conviction are very different. People admit to things all the time but then they plead not guilty. It's a way to get a a conviction of a lesser charge.:)

You need to tell this story to the State police in St Louis area and to the state police in another state like illinois and they will get the feds involved if you think any of these men were murdered and it's covered up and if inmates are being abused. Don't worry, they will protect you from any abuse.
