Two brothers from West Plains are in jail tonight charged in the death of Ricky Johnson.

I grew up in Westplains. this is the saddest thing that i think has ever happened their. I just want to tell the family that im very sorry for your loss and i hope and pray that those two boys get whats coming to them 10 fold.

I also grew up in west plains,use to be a nice place to live...If ya stop and think all these suicides and murders has started whenever the wolf pack ganged up on innocent ppl and got them all caught up in there addictions...I knew monica Kesling and lisa Ebberly and i had heard rumors about them now I believe they are a big part in this and the cops needs to get off their asses and stop being a chicken shit and take control of these ppl.....My prayers goes out to all who has lost a loved one due to these meth heads,there will be more if they dont take control of this situation now...I had a close friend a couple of years ago and now I look at her and dont even know her anymore....I have a teenager and im glad we got out of there because now some of her friends are doing this crap.

Scoot your chairs back away from break table and start searching out this information!!!! the next step will be innocent people sent to prison because they have no other choice but to take action to protect themselves and thier loved ones!!

Why doesn't old wp resident actually call the police to report what they allegedly know? I don't think the police are on Topix looking for leads on an on-going homicide investigation. I'm no fan of the police but for lola to imply that they're not doing their jobs because they're not following anonymous tips on Topix is ridiculous.

You are really full of crap if you think for one second that the "police" dont know about or read this forum!!
everyone in west plains has heard about this!! come on think about it. if they really want to hear about whats happenning right under thier noses this would be a good starting place. there are so many people who are afraid to speak out, so they go here. people can name names and give out tips without getting involved. if you're as bright as youd like me to believe then you KNOW everyone knows everyone around here or they know about them. Im just saying this is a very good way to hear from people. I know they would have to sort through a lot of "bull", but I think there is a lot of good leads here.

Really, lola?!! It seems to me that Topix is nothing more than a forum for gossipy old people to spread rumors about people that they don't like. No evidence is needed, just someone who doesn't like the way that you look or your dog dumped in their yard, etc. I don't care if you think I'm "bright" or not. People should call the police. Yes it is!Denise Mccall was married to a man who dealt it for years and he died last year...mysteriously.Denise also lost a van in TN,because she was caught with the "makings"....controv ersy and drugs surround them now and for years before!Good ol WP turning that blind eye to send petty theives & juveniles up river and letting these pieces of crap infect the community.Ricky would be here,I bet if Monica hadn't have been his girl.Whatta bitch.

There are a lot of "Ricky's" out there that need help. The so called friends they hang with dont want them to get help because then who would they have to do thier dirty deeds and drugs with? This drug isnt like pot, it's very dangerous! It turns people into raging animals. Take a look on line at the way meth users live. They care about nothing. Baby highchairs are pictured sitting in the middle of meth labs in filth and meth sitting on the highchair. Even scarrier, if the children of meth users live long enough, what chance do they have to beat this kind of life?

I have got to comment on this, I was a Drug addict for over 10 years, methamphetamine was my drug of choice. I have been clean now for over 9 years.. And you are right about the friends the old saying "misery loves company" applies, also if that person happens to be the one that was suppling them they really don't want to see them get clean!!! Allthough I have never seen anyone in all my years turn into raging animals, I did see alot of people hallucinate, do things they would not normally do had they not been under the influence of the drug!! people need to be more informed about the fact that drug addiction is a
disease/illness thease people all need treatment!!! people also need to be better educated about the drugs that are out there , my mother always thought that when I was sleeping and bitchy was when I was high!! Not every meth head lives in a trashy house, I lived in a nice 4 bedroom home, and drove a very nice car, my kids all made good grades in school... I was what they called a functional user, thank God that life is over for me!!! If you have a family member that is using you can't force them to stop.. the best thing that happened to me was I got sent to jail!

You can't call the police station because you don't know what to say? You sure can find a lot to say on the computer. Apparently,you don't know the McCall family or you would know these statements are not rumors about that family!Monica is all over cse net and so is Denise's former hubby.Every hubby Denise has had has went to prison for drugs,and she keeps on rolling!The cops use to joke in the late 80's about her flower shop as the little pink house cocaine built!She lost the flower shop 10 years ago,btw.I worked in the courts years back...these people are part of a problem tht does go overlooked!The locals usually know more about people than the cops do,anyway.The cops need to do their job and start asking around instead of waiting for easy scores to fall into their laps.

I graduated with Ricky Johnson and am-was Rick Philpot's neighbor up until the day he died. Both were good ppl that got mixed up with bad ppl. Denise is an idiot for ever treating Rick the way she did. It's kind of ironic that Denise's husband Rick died and used to do drugs and that her daughter's boyfriend Ricky died because of drugs... STAY AWAY FROM THAT FAMILY Rick Philpot was a good man. He was good to my son, my little cousin who was like a son to him, and my family. Rick would do anything for my family all we had to do was ask. He had turned his life around and was trying to make better one for his kids. After Rick died, Denise screwed us over with the rent and the other bills that he left behind. She also said some pretty mean things to my cousin. He was already devastated that his best friend had died... Don't worry, HUH! I WILL TAKE THIS INFO TO THE AUTHORITIES!

Apparently, many people don't know how the judicial system works. If 100 people call the police department tomorrow to report rumors or other things that they have been heard, the police can't do much about it. Why? It starts with a formal complaint which is investigated. Unless someone is willing to step forward and provide a formal complaint instead of being a coward and not giving your name, nothing CAN legally be done. My suggestion is that you step forward with any information you might have, be willing to file a complaint and be ready to testify when called to court, and stop complaining about the police officers not doing their jobs. They can't do it without the formal process or it would be a violation of your civil rights.
