I agree with you. There is nothing in the bible in reference to Christmas and Easter BUT these days are an American tradition which is why people here celebrate them. I say "Live and let live" Everyone has different beliefs so therefore you really can't judge their beliefs or traditions.

No where in the bible will you find anything about easter or christmas.so if its not in the bible it does not have any value.but a trick from the devil.you might as well make up your own holidays and call that being a christian.that is exactly what happened.i was tought just like most of you as a child.that i was celebrating in christ.but lets be honest with yourself.we change they holidays to make the people happy.people dont even want to say merry christmas anymore.its happy holidays.what am i gonna get and easter named after the god of fertility .eggs a sign of fertility.and bunnys, another fast breeding animal.do your homework before giving a amature reply.i have done mine
number one,,,if you dont beleive then why complain?,,,number two,,,christmas is the celebration of the coming/birth of our LORD JESUS CHRIST,,,if you make christmas about christmas gifts you get,,,then you missed out,,,and easter is the time when JESUS CHRIST our LORD suffered and died for our sins and then rose to fullfill GODs promise,,,if you make easter about finding easter eggs and candy,,,then you missed out,,,so re-do your homework cuz what the grave digger described is in the Bible,,,and if your an atheist,,,what you care anyways besides wanting to start an argument with a christian,,,and the trick from the devil is working ignorence and no respect thru you,,,like a tool,,,ha haa haaa,,,

Grave Digger.. Tell me where in the bible it has anything about Christmas and Easter? Common sense question. Why would Jesus be born in a manger during the winter season? it is as cold in Bethleham as it is in the north of the United States. I would think the baby would freeze to death. Also, Easter....How do you get that Christ died, was buried and on the third day rose? He died on supposedly Good Friday, Rose on Sunday. Where do you get 3 days out of that? I would say it was just a day and a half from Friday Afternoon to Sunday at sunrise. Prove to me that you have the answers and let me know where you got this in the bible.

Christ was born around October.
My family do not celebrate either holiday the way the world does. We call easter Resurrection Sunday. We do not eat ancient torture devices made of chocolate nor do we lie to our children about giant bunnies and a man dressed in red. If other Christians do these things that is up to them. Being worldly is and has always been a problem with Christians. They want to fit in. We are called to be a peculiar people. You can't love God and be a friend of the world. Make of it how you will. I will choose Jesus. You can have the easter bunny and santa. They won't help you once you are dead. Jesus is alive and living with His alive Father in Heaven. Everyone has a choice, just as sin is always a choice.

I agree with you that Jesus was born sometime the end of Sept. or beginning of Oct. Nope I do not believe in santa (scramble those letters and you can get satan). Don't believe in any easter bunnies either. One question to you though is what did you mean about eating torture devices made of chocolate? I've never heard of this and don't understand it. Would appreciate if you explained this to me. Thanks.

Anymore Christmas is not celebrated for God as much as it is for pretty lights, presents and Santa. Easter in not celebrated for the rise of Jesus as much as it is for the Easter bunny and the goodies he brings. Even the 4th of July is not celebrated for our independence as much as it is for the fireworks, light shows and to get things to blow up stuff. This is what our children see anymore. It is all about Santa and gifts, the Bunny and treats, the fireworks and the light shows. Everything that used to be celebrated for real reasons is now by many being celebrated for the material things that come with it.

From what "New" has said, I'd almost think he is a disciple of the Lord. I've been preaching the same thing for almost 30 years! It makes me think I'm getting thru to someone. The messiah was born in early October and Jesus never rose from the dead, he died and his spirit went to heaven. He has been reincarnated and his new name is "Bill". I call him "Mr. Bill" (from SNL) He wanted to be crucified because he thought it would fulfill scripture.

If Jesus had risen from the dead, he would be here. The whole purpose of the resurrection is to conquer and transcend death. Everything in Christianity that was not fulfilled was nailed to the cross and that was not even fulfilled. Jesus fulfilled 0 messianic prophecies. Christians take verses out of context and say they were fulfilled. A complete paragraph, chapter or Psalm is a prophecy. Where in the NT is the drummer boy mentioned? Nowhere because it never happened. If we count prophecies like Christians, we've all fulfilled the bible.

You are a nut. People like you don't really believe what they say. There are no atheists just people with anger problems. You are afraid that is why you try to make God into a image you can control. God is big and can not be controlled by anyone. He sent Jesus a part of himself for all of us. Shame on you.

You are projecting (look it up). You have made graven and molten images a god and you are full of hate. You worship a dead god who has actually been reincarnated and this time he's not going to make it to heaven. He will burst into flames at the end.
