She was a very pretty girl and had a nice smile. I would have been proud to be her parent. I just hope you are not trying to stir something up about a child on TOPIX.

Tabitha Haney was crowned homecoming queen. Any of those three girls would have made a beautiful homecoming queen. The entire court looked amazing.

Now Curious in my opinion you are the one trying to start something on here about this thread. You were out of line in saying what you did about starting something about a child on Topix. You should have left the last part off your comment. Comments like yours is why crap gets started.

Curious is protecting a high school girl from getting slandered on a public forum. She or he was not out of line. The girl is a minor.

Agreed. Although I'm sure it was a post with honest intentions. Topix is like that. Full of curious people with good intentions.

Well, I can tell you that it is my experience when someone starts a topic like this and words it the way they did... there was ill intentions. If you will notice the OP did not have anything nice to say about her or compliment her. I happen to have two children in WPH, a SR and a JR that I would not want drug through the mud on Topix. So, I was just making sure this did not turn into that. She was a pretty girl and very polite when we spoke. I just do not want to see or read anyone attack her or any one's child. By the way I am a her...

Thanks for clearing that up. I was a little confused why it seemed hostile toward me. It does seem to have slowed the OP (original poster) down. I have kids and I just hate when I see children's names posted on her. I guess I am old because anything still in school is a kid to me. lol Gawd, I never wanted to be old. lol

Surprised at how someone could read all of that into one sentence. I have no problem with the homecoming queen, who if she is a minor, wont be one for long. What I have a big problem with is that someone very close to me that works for r7 high school told me that the votes were never counted. Now if the girl were to have won by number of votes I wouldn't be saying anything at all, and she may have anyway. I just hate how crooked r7 can be. It is all about who you know. The "child" didn't act excited and was heard complaining that she just wanted the night to be over because she was hungry and tired. It sure left a bad taste in patron's mouths. I'm sure she knew beforehand that she won, and who knows, she may not have even wanted the honor. It's sad that students get treated differently because of how well known their parents are in the community. I have no idea who the other girls are but I bet they would have been excited to win and probably would have appreciated the honor more. Alas though, we will never know the truth as to who really won. Such an injustice all of the way around.

Sweetie you are right. The entire court was very nice.

The rest of you can whine somewhere else. Its topix. If you don't want gossip you better watch ky3 or kolr10 to get your news. The fact that you are on here and responded shows that you like gossip as much as everybody else. You probably know the truth too and are afraid everyone will find out about it.

I feel bad for the Haney kids. They have been pushed and pushed and the dad has bullied his way through the elementary and high school. They sure have big shoes to fill. I heard the mom say in her shop that they MADE the school allow the little boy to repeat kindergarten so he could play basketball longer. Who does that to their kids??? Those kids will be a nervous wreck before they are 20, and they will think the world owes them whatever they desire. So so sad.

hummyhummy you are right.
I have nothing against the Haney kids either and I am glad Tabi won because she is a hard worker but their dad has pushed and pushed and pushed them to be good at sports. Tabi may look like she's got it all but it came with a price- a ton of pushing from her dad and hours upon hours of practice.

Tab Haney was a for sure win. I know several HS students and they all told me that the other 2 girls weren't "well known" and that Tab was going to win. So what if she complained of being "tired and hungry", she is a teenager and they are full of complaints.

What is wrong with a parent pushing their child/ren to succeed in life? More kids need that.

If you don't live in their home then you have NO idea what is going on or if the kids are being "pushed". The statement about the boy being held back in kindergarten so he could play basketball longer makes absolutely no sense. How the hell does a kindergartener get to play basketball longer by being held back? It also seems to me that if these kids are being pushed and forced to practice and be the best they can be they will not grow up to be entitled. They will actually understand the concept of working hard to succeed.
I thought I had seen it all on Topix but a thread about who won homecoming queen title and if they deserved it is beyond immature.

Uh well yeah that's good and all but I don't think any one is being that immature. No one has said a word bad about Tabi and I've heard their mother say their dad pushes them pretty hard. I'm not even talking bad about their dad, I just he pushes them and that's one reason why they are so good. Geez. Take a chill pill.
