So tell me...if these kids were just planning a freeze frame flash mob with song and dance then why did these same kids post on social medias that they were bringing guns to school, there was a sucide pact, that they were bringing illegal drugs to school for a party at school? Explain that one away! Yeah thats a good idea lets make threats to bring guns and illegal drugs to school and make threats of a sucide pact when they are only planning a freeze frame flash mob with song and dance! Cause that makes since right? NOT! Then now theres rumors of it happening in surrounding schools also and of them randomly picking a different day to it cause they are under investigation! IS IT SAFE TO EVER SEND YOUR KIDS BACK TO SCHOOL? No one really knows who these mentally unstable kids are so how safe is it really to send our kids back to school?
Get the facts straight before posting and slandering people. The students planning the flash mob WERE NOT the same kids posting/texting/talking about any guns or violence. Do you not remember how rumors get way out of control in high school? Someone hears there will be a flash mob, then some idiot turns it into we're gonna have a party at the school, then it goes to no, we're going to have a mass suicide, then some real big moron says no, we're going to shoot up the school that day. Something innocent turned into a no laughing matter very quickly.

And no, none of us know for sure at any given moment that we or our children are safe from harm regardless of where we are. There are many threats to safety in this world besides mentally ill and crazy people. We could be killed while driving, our homes etc could catch fire, you could fall and break your neck etc etc.

With that being said, I do agree ALL schools need to step up their security and the taxpayers need to ok a tax increase instead of saying NO and then getting on Topix to complain about everything wrong with the schools.

I know whats been all over the news so how is that not proof! It really doesnt matter if you want to risk your kids lives in the wphs and now surrounding schools then you go right ahead i cant stop you from risking your kids lives! I however do know its not right for anyone to risk their kids lives especially with the kind of threats that have been made by these sick kids! I however wont be risking my kids life as i love my kid more than life itself and would never risk his life especially in a situation where a group oc sick kids have made this kind of horrific threats then tried to explain it away so they dont get in trouble for their threats! Im not going to keep arguing with people who obviously dont care about their kids or dont have kids at all so they dont care that our kids lives are at risk with these sick kids! So im done arguing with you people who are obviously just as sick as these kids who started all this as im not going to feed your sick minds! You risk your kids lives all you want even though its not right but im not willing to take that risk with my kids life!

LAW ENFORCEMENT came in because of calls/reports from parents who are,was extremely concerned, not because WPHS had been "working with them" . Every student, and parent is stressed, worried, and plain pissed at how this whole thing has been brushed off. That million dollar football turf could have been spent to help protect our kids, while they're at school,,but hell no! Sports always comes first

You do risk wearing out that exclamation mark on your keyboard.

There are actually several punctuation characters to choose from; and your kids might learn that if you don't panic and pull them out of school. Then they can help you learn it.

No, I am a parent of 2 middle schoolers who was quite happy to see police presence when I dropped my children off this morning. And no, I don't feel that any kid who was making a legitimate threat of violence should get away with it. They should be punished severly because this type of stuff is not a joke. If they were simply discussing what they heard, that is not a threat nor illegal. If someone actually posted on facebook or texted that they were going to do something violent then I would assume that the police would have already arrested them. Law enforcement takes that kind of stuff seriously and it is easily traced. I don't know why you keep arguing with everyone. Everything I have read or heard (from people that would actually know) is that this started out as a flash mob and blew up into this BS rumor.

If you want to keep your kids at home that is your right and I don't judge you for it. Don't judge the rest of us because we see this situation differently and are sending our children to school this week.

Ok but if you send your kids and these sick kids decide to act on their sick threats and your kid or kids are hurt or killed in these sick kids actions how will you feel? I would much rather be safe than sorry myself!

Look, I have enough common sense to know that I can't protect my children or myself from all the dangers of the world. I wish I could but it just isn't possible. I spoke to my boys at great length this weekend as well as each day when I pick them up from school. If they felt scared or threatened in any way I would not send them. But I have heard just the opposite. My boys say they feel safer this week, especially this upcoming Friday, than they ever have before. My youngest, whom just turned 12, also mentioned that not only could this happen any day of the week but it is less likely to happen anytime this week. They have told me several teachers are taking polls of who will be absent Friday. It sounds like about a handful of kids per class are reporting they won't be there. These same students are telling my sons they want to go to school that day, that they feel safe as well, but their parents won't allow it. I think it says alot when kids are actually wanting to go to school instead of use it as an excuse to stay home. I also sat down with my sons Sunday evening and we looked at a map of the inside of the school. We strategized about ways to hide or exit & places not to hide or try to exit from at each of their classrooms and common areas of the building. I have also regularly done the same about how to escape our home from anywhere in it in case of fire or home invasion. You may not agree with me but my boys are empowered and confident yet realistic about the state of the world and that is how I choose to raise them.

Is this proof enough? The school lied that it was just a flash mob knowing full well that this boy made these threats mon dec 17th! The police station kept telling everyone that the investigation was still open and it was more than just a flash mob! http://ozarkareanetwork.com/localnews/...

I agree 100% and am also mad as hell.

What a disgrace... the school lying to us parents while they knew full well that there was an actual threat. I am shaken to my core - we are supposed to trust them with our kids???? Trust not earned. Trust vomited back on my shoes.

It's a big surprise that this school lied? You need to pay more attention to what really goes on at this school. They lie more then they tell the truth and cover things up to protect the click kids. I pray for this kid and his family because if it was a click kid who said these stupid things, it would of been covered up like alot of things get covered up.

Have you EVER got that right! My son is a Senior this year, and I cant even imagin these kinds of stressors these kids endure. I was a proud gradute 20 some years ago and the mere IDEA of crap like this happening was about as far fetched as a Dr. Suess book. Parents hold your children a little tighter, they have a scary world to save. We only get one chance to do things right for them.

Not surprised, no. Just horrified. I am fully aware of what goes on over there, believe me. Actually I am closer to it than I ever wanted to be. But this is really, truly crossing a line. I know they have much experience in the CYA department, but this time it is literally a life and death matter. Lying DIRECTLY to parents about threats of violence? I can hardly process it fully, to be honest.

Nothing to take serious, just an over-reaction to posts on social media.

Hwy Patrol didn't arrest anyone, as they saw it for what is was...a thought process believed to be heavily influenced by anxiety or fear, often to the point of irrationality and delusion caused by the Connecticut "gun free zone" school shooting.
