Here's hoping everyone had a great Easter Sunday, good church services and even an Easter egg hunt if that was possible.

Your town is named after an Indian Chief so it must be more exciting than you are letting on.

Pick the city folk off one at a time as they float by with a high powered squirt gun. Use a "silencer" so they can't pinpoint your exact location on the bluff.

I give you permission to hide on the bluffs, and every time you see the city folk floating by, if you see them throw trash, beer cans, whatever out in the water, have the most high powered water gun you can find. Aim, and fire!! That should livin it up quite a bit. ;-)

Just cause they aren't from here don't make um city folk. For a fact most folks who come here on vacation don't live in cites. They live on farms and come here with their horses for the trail rides. Or are ya'll so simple you figure they got them horses in their back yards. I realize folks round here do that but we aint got laws against it like civilized cities do. And, lets show a little gratitude. Those people bring in over a million dollars for the businesses every year. Without that money this area would dry up in a heart beat.

Based upon your grammar, you sound like an inbred. Were you an extra in the Deliverance movie?

At least they don't sound heartless. Not everyone that lives here is FROM here, and therefore not an inbred. However, nearly everyone FROM here I've found to be illiterate. Even those who went to school. You do the math. I have, but I don't speak to them like you are.

Not to mention 'yup' is working. They can't be all that stupid if they are willing to support themselves and their family. Besides, does it matter whether that person is inbred, from here, not from here? A hard working person is worth 1000 individuals WE are supporting who live on government checks, FS, and welfare. It appears someone is upset because they were disagreed with...get over it. We all have opinions.

The reality is if people have enough money to vacation they are obviously spending it to have a good time. Eminence depends upon that revenue to survive, and it simply doesn't matter whether those people come from cities or farms. They are enabling the local businesses to keep their doors open.

If you think most people are illiterate then you don't know many folks from here. Most of us aren't inbreds either. Speak for yourself on these matters because I for one am none of those things and think you're being narcissistic to think such things about people around here and to post your trash on a public forum!

An interesting argument. I have been teaching illiterates for decades and understand the frustration they feel. I also have regular reports on the percentage of illiteracy for Shannon County and it's higher then many people realize.
I've also found that most people don't fully understand the meaning of the word. Illiteracy does NOT simply mean a person is completely unable to read or write. It also means a low level of reading comprehension as well as a markedly low reading level and the absence of proper sentence structure.
As for myself, I graduated from an Ivy League College at the top of my class and have a Masters Degree. I could have gone on to work for a number of large corporations or teach at a major university. I only say this because I had job offers, but I chose instead to come to Missouri all of those many years ago. I read the reports and recognized there was a great need in this area and I wanted to help. I make almost nothing for what I do, but at least I'm making a difference in some people's lives.
