I am woman in my 30's and now and then I get chest pains but no other symptoms . My heart seems to be beating normal and my blood pressure reading is all normal . I don't suffer from anxiety at all . I am always doing something or working . I have the normal stress like anyone else that is always busy . I do know stress is not good at any level . I would say mine from a scale of 1 to 10 its a 2 to 4 some days other days a 8 or 9 . Anyways . I have had this on going issue and the Dr has run all kinds of test on me and all the test show up great . Is it possible its gas ? A few people have told me that sometimes when you bend down to pick something up real quick it can cause unexplained chest pains . Now I do know heart problems run in my family but all my test look good . I had an uncle have his first mild heart attack at 29 and now he is 60 something and a cousin recently die like 3 years ago from a heart attack and they tried to treat him for anxiety . I am not going to let this worry because I know it does not help . Anyways . I was looking for advice . Thanks

Go see a specialist elsewhere that will listen to you! Never take chest pain lightly! Chest pain presents differently for a woman than a man. Ex...jaw pain, arm pain ect...

Are you taking diet pills? They can be really hard on your heart.

I do not take any kinds of pills what so ever and I am not over weight nor am I underweight . I exercise often and eat pretty good but yet am not a major health nut . I like flavor but yet I am not a big fast food eater either . I do get tired often . I have talked to different Dr's from out of state as well and have had ekg's Now I have heard that an ekg won't always pick up a problem the only thing I have not had was where they put the blue dye in you an angiogram how ever u spell it . But have not had one yet but am going to suggest it to my Dr . He did check my potassium levels , they were great and thyroid that was wonderful . Now I do drink a lot of coffee I wonder if that can cause problems . My heart seems to beat the same with or with out it . I know how to check my heart rate .

Hmm, i dont know...our son has Sarcoidosis that causes very frequent chest pains alot. But...the only way to test for that is an open lung biopsy. Just a shot in the dark there. Hope thats not whats going on with you as it is a horrible disease and our son goes through h*ll with it. But, there is many things that it could be including heartburn as someone else already said. Good luck!

The majority of processed food has MSG in it (also listed under about 20 other various names-google it- which can cause heart palpitations, chest pressure, headache etc.)

Thanks all . Oh and cousin . No I do not take any pills other then vitamins but thanks for asking . I will have further test done until there is nothing to check out . I hope its just a pulled muscle . That would be a relief to know . As far as my gull bladder I will talk the the Dr about that too . I am sure many of you kind of think like me when it comes to Dr's . They wear a coat with their names on them and have plaques on the wall that show there official but many lack wisdom and don't seem to know much and yet want 200 dollars or higher just for a visit alone not counting the lab work and its frustrating to deal with Dr's who rack up the bill rather then use their education and figure what test really need to be done . Thanks all for all the info .

Acid reflux is aggravated by coffee drinking. I had acid reflux due to coffee consumption and felt like I was having heart attacks especially when I lay down. Take some acid reflux medicine and lay off the coffee completely for a while and it should clear up in a week or two.

It could many things, but the worst would be problems with you heart....I would definetly get a second opinion. Some doctors treat you like a number or assume it's nothing. If you have back pain, arm pain, jaw pain or heart burn. I would get to the er. My sister in law had severe heartburn only for about 2 weeks. One night she became dizzy, nausea and vomiting and was gone in 10 minutes. It was what they call the widow maker. I don't mean to scare you, but to warn you and others, that women can have totally different symptoms. Please take care and see another dr or bug the heck out of your dr for ultra sounds, ekg, ect.. praying for you.

I have been getting pains in my chest, shortness of breath and my rib cage hurts. Once in a while my heart beat feels like a tennis ball against a wall. Bp and heart rate are normal. What could this be?

i can not believe this, you guys need to stop posting on topix and get to a doctor. it is insane too be missing around with this stuff. its like a horror show when someone says "we should split up and check in the woods". please stop taking this for granted and go to the doctor and do not take no for a answer you know your body better than anyone else and pain is a universal warning signal that something is wrong.
