What's wrong with Sonic?

I appreciate that Blasphemer. I was really disheartened but I had somewhere I had to be and I was already late. So, I just walked away. But if I go back now, they won't believe me anyway. But I won't be putting my money into Sonic any longer. And why should I? I'm not rich and IF I ever eat out, I want to get my money's worth. That definitely is not going to be Sonic in the future. Off to Taco Bell I go! Lol!

Contacting corporate will get you somewhere. When you work for a "Franchise"..like this sonic is. You have to abide by most of the rules the corporate sonics do. You are correct that sometimes they dont have to run the specials the other ones do, but, the do have to follow the rules in order to operate under the name of Sonic. I know this because I work in a franchise! The Sonic here is horrible, and I dont think the owners want to here what is wrong with it. Corporate will have an issue tho. The owner could have his franchise stripped from him and then not be allowed to operate under the Sonic unmbrella. They could call it Crap-to go!!!
Exactly what I thought...corporate does care & will take action if enough dissatisfied customers will only contact them!!!

The key word being "enough". Corporate isn't going to issue a refund to 1(or even 5) customers who got poor quality food or a wrong order. The question is "how many is enough?". Unless they are getting complaints every week for an extended period of time nothing will happen. Like I said, I talked to the district manager. Guess who he works for?...corporate. If it makes anyone feel better go ahead and complain to corporate. I am just trying to relate my experience...and that would be that you are just spinning your wheels.

Got a complaint about the local Sonic?...try this number. I don't know how much good it will actually do, but it is worth a try.

Yeah, you are correct...thinking like you do will never get anything done. Are you part owner of this Sonic & don't want complaints to be filed or what???

No, I tried complaining and got absolutely no help. When the corporate person in charge of this area tells you theres nothing he can really do, it just puts it in perspective. Basically I complained and got told "tough shit" by corporate.

I'll even give details...mine was simple. I had had breakfast there on a few occasions and got burnt bacon. I took the food to go so I couldn't send it back. On the next visit I specifically requested "non-burnt bacon"...same product was served...burnt. Rather than screw around with whoever is in charge at 6:30 in the morning I called the district manager....you know the rest.

Sorry Joe but this is not one of J and N Sonics. It is owned out of Fla. by the Dewitt family.
The West Plains Sonic is owned by Terry Johnson of West Plains. They own several more sonics and businesses in WP.

Then evidently the "district manager" isn't high up enough Blas. I'm talking about corporate headquarters in Oklahoma City.
I happen to believe that a person should receive just what they order at Sonic or any other eating establishment & it should be of good quality & cooked to his/her satisfaction. If not, the first route to take would be complaining to the manager or owner. If that doesn't help, then the district manager. If that still doesn't help, go all the way to the top if you need to, but for goodness sake, don't let them get away with it. By no means is it just the money...that is the least part. It is the principle of the thing. If I wasn't happy with my meal at Sonic & couldn't get satisfaction, I wouldn't be above standing outside their establishment with a sign letting everyone know about my dissatisfaction. I would also write a letter to the editor locally and one to editor in Oklahoma City. That is a big problem in today's world...customers of these type eating establishments who aren't happy just let them get away with it, so it continues over and over.
Be assertive people...stand up for your rights!!!!

Did you ever consider...that is how their bacon is? I mean they cant really cook fresh bacon for every order.....unless you dont want your meal in a timely fashion. I assume you wanted if fast since it was to go. Some items have to be "precooked" in order to accomodate the every growing demand for speed of service. Not trying to start a war of words with you. Sounds like you just got blown off by Sonic tho.

Yeah I considered it...thats why I made a specific request the next time. By making that specific request I assumed the wait would be longer as properly cooked bacon was prepared. And by burnt I don't mean overcooked, I mean tasted like charcol.

Honestly my single issue is a moot point, I don't eat there any more...problem solved for me. I was just trying to relate my customer service experience with sonic and the outcome.

thats because they leave it under a heat lamp for hours at a time... and yes even at 6 in the morning its long enough, if it was over cooked to begin with for it to cook to characol under a light. some places are so cheap they keep the day befores bacon, zap it in microwave and serve it to ppl as bacon bits .... gross huh? food poisining at its best lol

You need to work at a fast food place and experience what goes on and how things are done. You are expected to get the order out the door in 4 min or less try to work with that crap and on top of that the crap that the public gives you. If you dont like the food service or etc dont go back. It looks to me as though this business is not hurting any at all.

Ha...I have worked fast food. As a matter of fact I was at one time a manager of fast food restaurant. The service times are based on an average, one bad time won't blow the whole day. You can actually manipulate those times quite easily. If someone has a special order and is waiting they can just clear it from the order prompt and the system thinks it was served. The public may give you crap but customer service/satisfaction should be the first priority.

Haha, you don't want to know what kind of stuff happens at Sonic, but I suppose most fast food restaurants are like that, so its best not to think about what has happened to your food! lol. I will say one thing though, if your food is messed up they will fix it, you just have to be nice about it, don't be an ass because if you are I can tell you right now you won't get anywhere unless they just don't want to deal with you.

In the last year we've gotten a chili dog, and chicken basket. They were good, as far as fast food goes.

The only gripe my hub has ever had is the smushed Texas toast:)

It should be greased enough and on hot enough griddle/grill long enough to grill/toast without being smushed flat on the grill to brown it quickley.

I'm callin bullshit...I was nice in my dealings with them. I simply asked for "fresh unburnt bacon" and I got whatever was under the heat lamps and it was burnt.
