Busted via Cell Phones

I read an article on the KY3 website about someone from Arkansas was busted for some lame-brained mistake of leaving his cell phone plugged into the charger that was left behind at the crime scene and it helped the cops catch up with him. There they found his Facebook profile and where he lived, they also found the stolen merchandise.
I also read an article in the Ozark County Times about a security guard who stole a cell phone type device from someone while on the job, and the cops were able to track it down using GPS technology.
I'd say those two were about as sharp as a box of ping pong balls. And what gets me is the lame excuses their circle of friends make up for them. "Just because he was arrested for theft, stealing and burglary a few months ago and is on probation and he stole something again, doesn't make him a bad guy. He just made a bad decision."
Really now? You should write a book about how smart you are and your ability to judge someone's character.
How many bad decisions do these kind of people need to make before they are considered incapable of making good ones? But then again it's hard to comprehend what is good when your circle of friends have been in & out of jail so many times for petty crimes that you never understand why others don't behave the same way and hate the cops like you do.
