Floyd Collins of West Plains was driving northbound on 63 yesterday when he crossed the center line and struck a minivan head on. The driver of the van, Edward E Hager of Vanzant and 53 year old Doyle Smith were in critical condition at the time of the police report, while the other two passengers, 47 year old Cindy Smith and 71 year old Esther Hager received moderate injuries.

Not sure if Reagen is a middle name or if Proud Momma is just someone running with diarhea of the mouth like so many on here.

Reagan is a middle name. First name was Floyd. But everyone knew him as Reagan. Rest in Peace. Keep his family in your prayers

Doyle Smith died last night of his injuries. It is scary. I pass that way a dozen times a week. Just goes to show it - it isn't always the way you drive but what the other guy is doing.

Condolences to both families.

Does anyone know what was going on on 160 today? There were a couple ambulances and a lot of volunteer firefighters headed in that direction. There was also a fire truck, but I didn't see any smoke??

Thank you
My sisters dad was the Edward Hager who also died in the wreck. Hope he wasn't the victim of a drunk driver.

My best friend is the granddaughter of Ed Hager and I can tell you that Doyle did not pass. He is currently in a drug induced coma due to his injuries. This was a very tragic accident, my best friend was visiting here when we got the news.

I just spoke to my cousin Cindy Smith whose was in the car accident (she and her mother-in-law are home) and Doyle is currently in a drug-induced coma and Edgar Hagar passed away. I hope that Floyd was not drinking while driving it would be an awful legacy to leave his family...we will be praying for all the families involved..what a tragic situation....

I find it amazing that someone said they have drank beer with someone, everyone jumps to conclusions.

You need to realize that there was more than 1 family suffering here, his family is as well.

If you read the paper, it stated that he was on his way home to pick up his lunch he had forgotten that morning when he left for work.

Any number of things could have cause him to cross that line. This is likely a question that will never be answere and all families involved will ask a million times.

Show some respect.

My father was the driver of the van that was struck by Mr. Collins. He unfortunately died as a result of his injuries. To help with my closure it would be helpful to know a bit more about Reagan.

I did not know Reagan, but I have empathy for his wife and children. It is difficult to lose a loved one.
My father Edward Eugene Hager was on his way to Arkansa that fatal morning to see his granddaughter Aaron graduate from kindergarten. He had retired after 35years as a machinist sold his home in California and moved to Missouri for a more peacful life. He was also a great guy.

I agree. Blame does not bring the dead back or ease the pain.
