Thank you McLovin65775. I don't think it will work out for us. He's made it clear that this is the life he wants. The entire time during rehab, he wouldn't even talk to his mother or I, and the day after he got out of rehab, he went back to his old ways. He said I was being obsessive because that day when he was out and about running around with his friend who got him started with all this, I went over to his house and waited on him to get home so he would talk to me because I was driving around town and saw him and his friend and I asked if he wanted me to go with him and his response was, "No not really." The weird thing is that while he was in jail, he seemed so much happier and wanted to be with me as opposed to when he went to rehab when he seemed depressed all the time and treated his mom and I like crap. I don't know. A part of me knows that I'm better off without him but deep down inside, I would give anything to have him back because I still love him and I want him to get better but it's like you said, he obviously doesn't WANT to get better and this is the life he wants. I guess in time I'll just have to learn to accept that.

Sadly he chose drugs over you. They can change an honest, loving person into someone you don't know. It hurts I'm sure. You seem very caring. Honestly from experience unless he makes that choice to get clean you're going to continue to get hurt over and over. Ive been on both sides of the fence.

there was an article in the Springfield paper today showing a map of the U S and the number of reported meth cases in 2009 thru the month of August. MO had over 1000 compared to 1 or 4 or 5 in some states and 164 in the state of California. That says something about the state of MO!! Our law enforcement can't watch everyone all the time but people watch people and you can tell a lot by watching, it's often right under your own nose, so people, watch and report! What a horrible way to get MO tops on a map!

Yeah, it is very scary and it's really bad on our part that we're known as the Meth Capital of the United States. Jefferson County, which contain most of the southern St. Louis suburbs, consistently has the most busts in the state. It's also a big problem in Franklin County. I saw a documentary on A&E once entitled "Meth: A County in Crisis" and it was set in Franklin County. But you don't have to go very far to know how bad it is around here.

Just take a look at the reported busts last year in 2008. All the counties in our congressional district are included.

1. St. Francois County (70)- Farmington
2. Ripley County (62)- Doniphan
3. Washington County (53)- Potosi
4. Butler County (30)- Poplar Bluff
5. Cape Girardeau County (19)- Cape Girardeau
6. Shannon County (19)- Winona
7. Texas County (12)- Cabool
8. New Madrid County (12)- New Madrid
9. Howell County (11)- West Plains
10. Stoddard County (11)- Dexter
11. Dunklin County (10)- Kennett
12. Reynolds County (10)- Ellington
13. Scott County (9)- Sikeston
14. Perry County (9)- Perryville
15. Ozark County (7)- Gainesville
16. Taney County (6)- Branson
17. Wayne County (5)- Piedmont
18. Douglas County (5)- Ava
19. Phelps County (3)- Rolla
20. Pemiscot County (3)- Caruthersville
21. Mississippi County (3)- Charleston
22. Oregon County (2)- Thayer
23. Iron County (2)- Ironton
24. Dent County (1)- Salem
25. Wright County (1)- Norwood
26. Madison County (1)- Fredericktown

Carter (Van Buren) and Bollinger (Marble Hill) counties had none reported in 2008.

Seems like the closer you get to the surrounding St. Louis areas is where it's the worst. I wonder why this is.

Meth. Problem in West Plains! I would like to meet just at least 10 people in this area who are not on some sort of drug, be it Meth, or unnecesssty prescription drug. It's a chemical world out there and no one is clean. Too bad, very sad!

I know more than 10 people that are on no drugs at all. Including alcohol, and cigarettes. I am aware that those are not drugs. There are people that arent on drugs. I agree though, that it is a HUGE problem here. You cant leave your house without seeing one or several people that are strung out.

It could all be stopped with a prescription only law with the only ingredient that can't be substituted to manufacture the drug.
pseudoephedrine laced cold pills are still being allowed to be sold over the pharmacy counters. The government doesn't want to stop the problem just control it.
Oregon is the only state that got so sick of the meth problems they now have a prescription law for pseudoephedrine laced cold pills.Their meth lab siezure went from 400 down to 20 in just one yr.Stopping the sale of those pills so freely over the pharmacy counters is being proven to stop the insane cycle. The question is why doesn't other states follow suit?

How's that going to stop the meth coming out of Mexico. They won't even stop people from coming here and living for years, do you think this law is going to stop meth?

At least it could stop the locals from making it.It may cut down on so many users.Which would cut down on crime, child
neglet, child abuse, and parents losing their minds.(or anyone for that matter)All over the stupid drug.I think its a great idea.

i think it would be a great idea to, there is no reason for anyone to need to take ephedrine or any sinus medication.

has this stopped prescription drug abuse? addicts will just shop around for a doctor that will prescribe them their drugs. look at Oxycontin.

Well said, yes it is a great idea, it's our locals doing the making that is the real problem. No doubt pharmacy employees can pretty much pick out which customers buy the "behind the counter" meds for a legitimate illness and which don't but the meth makers are not smart enough to know that, they'll do anything to get it, but... it would make it harder if they had to have a prescription

Sounds like there is a lot of meth cookers in caulifield. All related to the cops? Must be paid off.For as much gossip about dealers you'd think we would be reading the names in the quill.
