Anyone else having any problems with this school or the people running it? The administration has no respect for parents even when concerns are expressed. They allow children to be bullied and favoritism to continue. Any suggestions on how to get it to stop?

Maybe you shouldn't put things like this on Topix. Maybe its a parenting problem. Maybe a child that doesn't listen? Maybe instead of starting a topix on them you should constructively talk to the school, or school board. However i'm sure that since you started this it probably means you don't have the ability to be civil.

I'm familiar with the school, but my kids don't go there. I've not heard anything negative about them. Personal issues with staff is just that. Personal.

Clearly you are not familiar with the topix site. If you are, then why in the world would you post anything on here expecting any sort of result? I am familiar with Junction Hill. Never had any problems whatsoever there. If I had experienced problems I sure wouldn't be posting it on Topix. If you have a problem with something going on at the school, and have tried to address the issue with the principal with no results, why not go to the superintendent? Topix is not the place to deal with issues such as this. You will only get stupid answers and no results.

My son attended Junction Hill from Preschool to 8th grade. He and I both loved the school from the Janitor to the Superintendent. That has been several years ago. But I agree with the previous two posts. I am sure the school board would agree to meet with you and listen to your concerns if you did not get the results you were looking for from the Super.

I also attended the school, never a problem before until John Dern took over. I have no parenting issues, others do. And I'm sick of the super and everyone else letting children be bullied at school. Its the exact thing that causes school shootings and teenage suicide! I apologize for you heartless people with your rude comments, if you had children being bullied maybe you wouldn't be so closed minded and negative towards me for caring. I have tried to address my concerns with all who work there in a mature and civil way and have had no luck. I was simply asking a question and reaching out to the community to see if others have had any issues as well.

My comment wasn't heartless. I have a child in school and if she was being bullied I would be upset. I wouldn't get opinions from topix, however.

Once again, I've not heard of any problems with him. From anybody. Schools are always very open to address issues. And maybe you should slow down on your "heartless people" comment. Nothing I or anyone said was heartless, only honest. Schools don't just disregard bullying. However, kids are kids. There's always 2 sides to every story.

But they have just disregarded it that is exactly what my issue is. And I have heard other people complain about that school. Its funny how its a big issue when a teenager brings an unloaded gun to school or a teacher is having and affair but nobody seems to care when a child is being bullied and the adults that are suppose to protect her won't! Everyone is entitled to an opinion however, I asked for suggestions on my next possible step to change what is going on CURRENTLY in that school. If you have none quit reading and commenting on this thread.

Maybe the parent the started this thread was just trying to feel out other parents to see if this is happening to other children! I don't know that school but I know this happens at schools all over and even after talking to the principal thinking you and he were on the same page with this, we were not! Continuing to speak with the principal I became outraged! My son who is 17 now put up with it for 2 years! I talked and talked was nice the first 5 times then it became more serious he was jumped at school! When asked from the principal if I was made at him... I couldn't help myself but to just say loudly that yes I am extremely angry with you! You are paid to keep my child safe and you have failed badly! I then told him I am taking this matter to the school board. With this being said he no longer is our principal! So I do understand the frustration this parent is having! I believe some people that work with our children are just there to make a pay check! Not exactly sure why would they want to work with kids when they don't like kids to begin with! Keep your head up and remember we have to stand up for our children!! Have a great day!!

Maybe the parent is trying to feel other parents out. However, why topix? Go to a school board meeting, a PTA meeting, etc. Maybe she has no idea how topix works.... maybe she is all the way out of ideas.. who knows. All I know is that this site is nothing but gossip and slander. Before anyone says anything, the only reason I am on this site is because my name has graced these forums before. By a problem starter. So, daily I check to make sure there isn't any more unnecessary drama directed at me. I happened to see the Junction Hill thread and take a look. I offered my opinion. It wasn't rude or hateful. It was fact. Nothing will be solved by asking topix for help.

Yes...it's called "HOME SCHOOLING". I'm sure the administration would love for you to investigate this option.

As wonderful as home schooling sounds I have to work for a living. I have tried to talk to the school board but they don't see the matter as serious so they disregard it too. PTA at that school is a joke. They all kiss the supers a**. My daughters teacher has even voiced concern on the changes John Dern has put in place since he took the job. And yes I was reaching out to see what other options were out there. I have exhausted all others I know of. Also trying to gain some other parents thoughts and past experiences with this school or any others. I may be bitchy but I have every right to be, these are my children, and any good parent would be outraged at the lack of concern on the part of our school district. If you had children being tormented daily you would understand.

Same school similar problem! My daughter was threatened in class in front of the teacher. No one took up for her! Talking to faculty and sup got us no where. She was assaulted by the same person in the school bathroom and took up for herself. Believe this.... She got suspended and eventually lost faith in the school system and later dropped out! This was prior to the safe school act. Bullying is a community issue! Why not offer suggestions without bashing this mother.

Can't you press charges against a bully? I wouldn't waste time with the school if you're past the point where they don't listen. Sorry, but I know what you mean when you say it's hard to get results. I still say trying them first is best, but record, document and save everything. Then contact DESE and the police dept. You'll get your reply all right.

Yes I do!! Call a former boardember I think his name is Rick Wade! I can guarantee this man can help with the bullying thing. He took care of it before!! Good luck...

I have two kids in that school and we love it. Everyone that works there is great. And for the superintendent he is at the door every morning rain or shine open the doors for each person. Plus you're doing the samething as what your writing about. Your being the BULLYING now.

I am not bullying anyone. I have 2 kids at that school as well as a niece and nephew, I also went to that school and so did my older nephew. So I have been around that school and the people that work there for 20 years now. Never once had any problems till that super started.... he has been nothing but rude to me when I try to address anything with him. Even said that if I didn't like his rules to move. He is on a power trip and for some reason everyone seems afraid of him well.... not me!! And especially when it comes to how they are allowing my child to be pushed around and belittled! NO CHILD SHOULD HAVE TO DEAL WITH THAT!! And it's really sad that any parent would see bullying as ok or try to blame the parent of the child being bullied. Your child is probably one of those mean children!! Shame on you!
