Does anyone actually "work" at Meek's...

Does anyone actually "work" at Meek's Lumber or are they all just seat fillers?

I can't ever get someone to wait on me. All they do is sit there and glare and/or ignore people who come in? Sounds like Bob Green needs to clean house. The people at Herrman's Lumber company are "always" friendly and quick to assist customers.

The only thing I've ever been told the one and only time I went to Meeks was to, "Go somewhere else."
...so I did and can't think of any reason to ever go back.

I've been to many Meeks stores. The one in West Plains has the nicest staff.

Most all the other Meeks stores I have been in Springfield, Mtn Grove, etc. are extreamly rude!

Recently, the one in Mtn Grove -- needed a bit of paint to finish a project. It was about 10 min before closing. When I walked through the door the counter help told me that they were closing in a few minuets and that I needed to hurry up and get what I needed. Did not ask what I needed, or offer to help me find what I needed.

I just stood there a moment -- surprised by the rudeness. So I turned around and left, went to Walmart.

UH? You must be kidding? They tried to charge me $7 for a 2 X 4. They dont help much unless they know you. They dont work much either. I figure the high price for 2 X 4s is to pay for their life style or lack thereof.

Sorry guys. But its true. You need to find out what work is. Standing around bullshitting is not work. Maybe you were told that is was but it's not. Your customers work which is why you have a "pay"check. Perhaps you could follow one of your customers out the door and go on a job to see what it's like.

"many people work there"

Sitting around and talking to the other lazy employees is not considered "working".
