So, I attended yesterday and it was really great! Powerful time of worship and then great preaching. To top it all off, an offering was taken up to help another church in the area.

The Holy Spirit testified through the apostle Paul that he was the chief of all sinners - probably due to the fact that he murdered and threw in prison the Lord's people. Yet God made Paul to be an apostle as an example of His grace towards those who sincerely repent.

It appears that Paul and the Pastor of His Place are examples of what Jesus was talking about when He said, "those who are forgiven much, love much in return."

Poor Diptera doesn't seem to have experienced very much of the Lord's forgiveness. We should pray for this person that they will experience God's wonderful grace in their life.

The oh-so-familiar gospel according to Greg. Look at you! Look at you! So I don't have to look at me. You are as relevant to the Gospel of Jesus Chist as a Sit-and-Spin is to my child's toybox. The hamster wheel of transportation. The National Enquirer of reliability. One of the many examples of why people hate so called Christians. Idle and lethargic. A Harley accident away from bettering Missouri and the body of Christ as a whole.

People hate Christians because they hate God. They can't "see" God, so they express their hatred towards His people. They supposedly "compare" His people to Him, "find fault" and so justify their hatred, when in fact God did appear some 2000 years ago and walked for 3 years among men and women here on earth, and the vast majority not only rejected Him, but called for His immediate execution.

Despite the fact that He healed their sick and infirm, fed them when they were hungry, ate with sinners, He was accused of being a gluttonous man who drank too much wine, someone who continually blasphemed and brought shame on God, preferred the company of sinners over "righteous" people, was prideful and ignorant, etc...

So, what does this mean? What many people see in themselves when they look deep into their own heart, they presume to see the same in others except even more exaggerated - whether its really there or not. That's why Jesus issued such a severe warning about judging others, saying that His Father would judge each of us according to the same measure we used to judge others. If we judge others as being unworthy of forgiveness and mercy, then God will withhold the same from us. Many many people live lives of continual unhappiness because of this very principle.

WOW. Well put Hooty Watcher.(Greg Worley) Thank you. Seriously, thank you. Everything finally makes sense. You have enlightened me beyond your intentions.

However, as exceptional the verbiage of your perverted spin may be, Jesus was in fact a friend to sinners but not a friend to sin. There is a marvelous difference which you have never been accused of modeling.

There are many examples of Jesus upbraiding the Church leaders for their gross sins [selections from Matthew 23]:

"But WOE unto you, Scribes and Pharisees, HYPOCRITES… FOR YOU SHUT UP THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN AGAINST MEN…

…THEY BIND HEAVY BURDENS and GRIEVOUS to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but will not move them with ONE OF THEIR FINGERS

WOE unto you, Scribes and Pharisees, HYPOCRITES… you DEVOUR WIDOW’S HOUSES… you shall receive the greater damnation.

WOE unto you, Scribes and Pharisees, HYPOCRITES…

WOE unto you, ye BLIND GUIDES…

You FOOLS AND BLIND…

You FOOLS AND BLIND…

WOE unto you, Scribes and Pharisees, HYPOCRITES! You… have omitted… JUDGMENT, MERCY, and FAITH…

You BLIND GUIDES, which strain out a gnat, and SWALLOW A CAMEL.

WOE unto you, Scribes and Pharisees, HYPOCRITES… within they are full of EXTORTION AND EXCESS.

You BLIND PHARISEES…

WOE unto you, Scribes and Pharisees, HYPOCRITES! You are FULL OF DEAD MEN’S BONES, and ALL UNCLEANESS… and HYPOCRISY and INIQUITY…

WOE unto you, Scribes and Pharisees, HYPOCRITES!… you are the children of them which KILLED the prophets. FILL YOU UP then the measure of your fathers.

You SERPENTS, you GENERATION OF SNAKES… you KILL AND CRUCIFY… you SCOURGE in your synagogues… Behold your house is left unto you DESOLATE"!!

Every one of these comments from Matt. 23 were spoken directly to the "Religious Scholars and Theologians" in the Church of God centered at the Temple in Jerusalem. Would Jesus speak in the same manner to the Religious Scholars and Theologians in God’s Church today? Does Jesus "change"? NO. Has the Church changed in the past 2000 years? YES. It has gotten WORSE.

His Place could not possibly serve as a greater example. Sadly, it has been a generational epidemic of hypocrisy that has plagued your family and inner circle with the damning results the Bible promises sin will deliver. My prayers remain for this pastor's repentance to the one and only true God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Sadly, it requires humility which this man clearly does not possess.

Excuse me! To the person that is using my name please stop posting as me! I started this asking a simple question. I have NOT attended this church! If that preacher, his wife, daughter has sinned wow they're human! I don't believe If any preacher is commenting major sins especially adultery, abuse then they should have the respect for our Lord and Saviour, and step down until they get it together. If things as that have happened in the past ask and ye shall be forgiven, right? There is not a person in this sad town that hasn't sinned!

Let's suppose for one moment you are correct(you aren't). The scripture commands that when a brother is overtaken in a fault then those who who are spiritual should go and restore such a person in a spirit of meekness, and Paul adds a stern warning for those who would do otherwise.

Any objective reader of this conversation can readily see that you are anything but meek and humble. Further, you came onto this forum in a purely cowardly fashion hiding behind a pseudonym to spew your venom. How incredibly pretentious you are to suggest you would pray for any person's repentance when it is plainly obvious even by your own admission earlier that these matters are all a game to you.

Diptera, you are a fraud.

Awe now preacher blowfish....don't be getting all huffy and angry just because you got caught hiding behind another Hooty again. Deja Vu can surely no longer even settle in to what might be left of your conscience. Lying is part of your everyday existence. It is your legacy. Your grave will not even need your name because "here lies" is sufficient and everyone will know exactly who you are. You are WAY too easy. How I approach you doesn't mean crap. You will always be the Al Bundy of ministry because you think you have everyone fooled. How embarrassing. Get real. You are capable.

You're still an insincere cowardly fraud...and I'm still just a friend who successfully fed you all rope you needed to hang yourself. You have shamefully succeeded in doing so. Ciao.

Matthew 7:1-5

The Message (MSG)

7 1-5 “Don’t pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults— unless, of course, you want the same treatment. That critical spirit has a way of boomeranging. It’s easy to see a smudge on your neighbor’s face and be oblivious to the ugly sneer on your own. Do you have the nerve to say,‘Let me wash your face for you,’ when your own face is distorted by contempt? It’s this whole traveling road-show mentality all over again, playing a holier-than-thou part instead of just living your part. Wipe that ugly sneer off your own face, and you might be fit to offer a washcloth to your neighbor.

This forum seems to be full of people who claim to be believers, but in fact have very little respect for God's word.

I think you nailed it Diptera. If this wasn't written by Greg it was written by someone close enough to him to think just as arrogantly and self centered as he does. The Pastor of His Place is an example of what Jesus was talking about when He said, "those who are forgiven much, love much in return."???? Equating himself with Paul???? That really is embarrassing.

Why is that embarrassing? Or do you and others just like riding the bandwagon of political correctness? Or, is that, "religious" political correctness? Such small thinking...

Lolol. What does a preacher getting caught on topix pretending he is someone that attended his very own church have to do with religious political correctness? How would that not be embarrassing? I can answer that. Only if you are Greg Worley.
