Jerry is the worst church leader there could ever be in a church. He's a hypocrite, and I really don't like hypocrites...especially the ones that preach on Sunday's. If everyone cares so much how terrible Jerry is...than The members of Faith Assembly need to choose someone worthy and knowledgeable of the bible and understands and loves our Lord. Jerry is only our average village idiot, he means no harm, he just doesn't know how or understands how people feel or how things work in life, he is still learning. We need someone older and more experienced. We don't need Jerry preaching what we already know and what we already understand...he needs to make a change. Teach us something we don't know or understand...but he's no different than everyone else...and understands less than the people he preaches too let alone practices it correctly. This is why I quit going to faith...I will return when they get a more appropriate person to lead the church, not someone who wants to play follow the leader. I follow the lord...not Jerry. He does like control and enjoys the people's envy, but things just get worse at Faith. I do agree with Vendetta...not 100%...but I agree.

I read in your post that you are a Christian? Your words and slander of Jerry, or any human being, do not reflect that. You have a right to your opinion but maybe you should pray for a different way to voice that opinion. As Christians we are to set an example to others not use words and actions that can hurt others. Every word from our mouths should bring glory to the Lord.

Joel Osteen preaches the same little feelgood message every Sunday. All he knows about life is that he never imagined being in front of an congregation like his daddy or the church moving into the basketball arena. You will get that promotion and better things are coming. That is every single sermon with him! He doesn't know the Bible either. Jerry from Faith Assembly must be better than that!

I wish everyone would just please stop. Allow people to worship where they feel God leads them. This makes me sick to my stomach because as Christians we're given specific guidelines to follow if we have issues with each other. Someone has been terribly hurt in a church (we all have at one time or another). I honestly was NOT slamming any former pastor of this church when I said Pastor Jerry has done more to "reach out." Faith has gone through some very hard times and all of us just want healing and restoration. I will stay where God has directed me - for however long and for whatever reason. That's a choice I have. I hope that whatever pain you've experienced you're able to release and move on. With all the turmoil in this world I just hate seeing "Christians" slam each other. One thing I know is that God is not a God that promotes anger and venom toward each other. I hope you'll be able to find some peace through all of your pain.

Doesn't anyone agree that the pastures at Faith Assembly and a lot of their members behave just like the members do at Westborro Baptist Church in Kansas? They go around making snap judgements at people and harassing you in Wal-Mart, slamming you indirectly at the services and sunday school classes. Calling you an Atheist or a heathen if you believe a little bit differently than they do, Making fun of other churches and talking about how much they hate Catholics and telling you what you can and cant do, like watching films that have something to do with Witchcraft or Vampires, you're not aloud or you're not with the church or a true believer, you're an infidel if you go watch them. I'm really sick of Jerry among all of them, he sits around taking confessions from people and than going and telling you who said what when he promised those people that it was "private" and that he was under "oath" not to tell. He took confessions from a lot of people I knew and than went and confronted the very people he shouldn't have causing much trouble. Heres to what I think, give these fools and pretenders picket signs to go protestors and that's all that's left that makes them a tiny bit different from the Westborro Baptist Church. That's the one tiny difference that sets them apart is that they talk about protesting and going door to door but they don't do it,everything else about them is just the same as Westborro Baptist Church. They are a cult! Fake and wanna be believers. Some of the church followers are good people , but I hope they see that the pasture Jerry who spouts cult and wrongfully scripts bible verses, sees him for what he is. Beware of this man, All he cares about is the control he has over people in that church. He likes to tell people how to live their lives, he doesn't give advise that helps people, he basically tells you to do something or else you will go to hell and gives you a scripture to think it over with. Or if you change churches, he harasses you. I'm really glad I have nothing to do with that church. I hope someone comes along and burns it to the ground. They are no different than the Westborro Baptist Church.

I know the pastors of Faith and many families who attend there. While Jerry can sometimes be a little standoffish, I believe he truly loves the Lord and wants to spread the word of God. I get the distinct impression that you are just angry for something that has happened, and I am not saying its right or wrong, but it does not show a true Christian attitude to post this on topix. As Christians, we need to seek out the Lord and pray to him for whats right and wrong. While leaders of the church are supposed to help guide the congregation, they are just human beings and we should always pray for guidance from Christ. We need to take sought out advice from our Church leaders and put it up for prayer.
I'm sorry you have had a bad experience with Christianity and church but please do not let that prevent you from seeking true faith from our Lord. If you feel betrayed by a member or members of a church then pray about it then sit down with that person and explain how and why you feel the way you do. Ask them to pray about what you have told them so that you both can receive the guidance from the Holy Spirit.

Here is something really simple. If you don't like your pastor and he's as terrible as you think he is. Maybe this isn't the church for you. Maybe you're not a social person. No one said you were supposed to attend a church. People just go so it helps them improve their faith and makes them feel better about their relationship with God, it makes them feel better about themselves , it helps them cope, and it helps them cope with their relationships with other people. Maybe Jerry is unstable to you because that's the light you see him in...maybe you're of weak faith and Lucifer is making you rebel against not only Pastor Jerry...but at innocent people and yourself. So what, you didn't get along with some people at Faith, we get it. Things didn't work out for you. But here is some good advice. Read your Bible. Don't think about it...just read it and apply yourself to it. If its Hard... Go to God and pray to him... Talk to him, you may not hear a voice... but look as though he will do something about your problems. He's there, and he's silent. God speaks in his actions and within your heart and your conscience. Trust me. I sin just like everyone else. You're no better than anyone else. Go to Church, read your Bible...Or Don't. You need to figure this out for yourself. Don't take it out on someone else. Don't go on Topix with this. Go To God, he'll guide you through this.

Westborro are just a family of lawyers who go around invoking outrage to cause lawsuits.

As much as a baptist church may be teaching error they are still better than the Roman Church or certainly the superstitious freemason cults.

the roman catholic church teaches love and compassion and faith and hope and is all about JESUS CHRST OUR LORD AND SAVIOR and preaches nothing but the GOSPELs of our LORD and has statues of the mother of CHRIST and many diffrent SAINTS and THE LORD JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS in the Churches for people can see these and are put in the right mind set of what JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD AND SAVIOR did for us all and to be inspired by the sacrifices these diffrent Saints and the Blessed Mother Mary the Mother of Christ lived,,,and it does teach in the Holy Bible to pray for the dead and all across the world in every kind of church or religions light candles to offer up prayers for their loved ones that have passed,,,and no Catholic worship no one but JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD AND SAVIOR and the Pope is nothing but the leader of the Catholic Church just like every religion or church across the world has a leader,,,so before you preach your crap that spills out your mouth,,,do some research on the subject first,,,for facts not opinions,,,punk,,,

It saddens me to say I truly believe this church is a cult- The church manipulates its people and is destroying families- The pastor admits to having an addiction to porn- No one is perfect I understand- A lot of the people attending the church often profess their misery and how awful their life is, how they have such a hard time in life- Where is their spiritual leader?

You obviously have nothing better to do than spread flat out slander and lies. The current pastor at faith does not have a porn addiction. The church is not a cult either. You obviously need a hobby. Better yet I would say you have a score to settle and you think trash talk on topix is the place.

SMDH- You must not know your pastor very well- His addiction to porn is part of his testimony- You should ask him about it if you're not afraid of his answer- There is no score to settle... It's just a fact- one that he is more than happy to share-

If that's true, then God bless him royally! We are witnessing a whole generation growing up with easy access to porn. It's a horribly emotionally debilitating addiction, and we will need pastors and other strong adults who have successfully battled their way out of this evil that will have the needed life skills to help deliver the next generation from this scourge.

It requires tremendous personal courage to publicly confess something like that from the pulpit. I'm not an AG'r but my hat's off to him!
