The tribe originates from Northern Alabama. Amonsoquath means the Bear People or People of the Bear. They used to have a place on the square in West Plains where they sold paintings and some other items made by Native Americans from all over. They are now located in Mammoth Springs AR. and have yearly pow wow's in that area.

Okay, I found out about this group and their chief:

Convicted Child Predator Chief of Amonsoquath Band of Cherokee
Why is a Convicted Child Sexual Predator allowed to be a "Child Welfare Representative" for his so called "Tribe?" Why is a Convicted Child Sexual Predator allowed to claim that "Tribal Children" are not subject to State or Federal jurisdiction? Why is a Convicted Child Sexual Predator allowed to create a "Summer camp" for kids?
These are serious questions which need to be put before the Missouri State Legislature without further delay. How many children have to be victimized before lawmakers act?
It should be noted that the Amonsoquath Band of Cherokee aka the Amonsoquath Tribe of Cherokee IS NOT a Federally recognized Indian Tribe. This entire group, and many others like them, have been publicly denounced by the REAL Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in their "Fabricated Tribes Resolution" The Amonsoquath Band is listed in the real Cherokee Nation's "Fraudulent Group List"
The fact that the Amonsoquath Band are a bunch of Faux Indians pales in comparison to the fact that a Child Sexual Predator is their "Chief"
Chief Martin Walking Bear Wilson
AKA:
Martin Gilmore Wilson
Martin "Walking Bear" Wilson
Chief Walking Bear
Walking Bear
Chief of Amonsoquath Tribe of Cherokee
Representative United Tribes of the Chickamauga Nations
Martin Wilson
Martin G. Wilson
Wilson has also publicly claimed to be a "Minister in the Congregational Bible Church and the Native American Church - Graduate of the 110 year old Blackstone College of Law."

So - the entire purpose of your original post asking about this group and any connections to West Plains was to give you an opening for a diatribe against Martin Wilson??

Seems to me you were already pretty well versed on the subject.

I'm not in any way defending Martin Wilson. I don't know the man. I am simply questioning your motives in posting the original question.

There is alot of that on topix. Im not sure why people dont just name the post "I hate _________, and here's why." Why go through all the trouble of asking question you already know the answer to in order to give the answers to the questions youve asked. Seems kinda roundabout to me.

Yeah "Big Chief" whatever, I know who you are, and you are still trying to start trouble. Grow up and get a grip on reality. Chief Walking Bear and his family are not gonna waste their time with the likes of you. People like you have ruined the reputation of this site by making it a hateful gossip rag.
