There really isn't much the one constant form of entertainment is as the other posters said, the movies. A couple times a year the Civic center will hold a Music show and have brought in the Liperzon Stallion show too. In the summer they hold a music fest on the square and bring in special guests for it. But counting all that, maybe a show four times a year and that's it. They really lack for things to do, especially for the young kids, for them school sports is pretty much it. Why they don't have a youth center or something for them I don't know? Maybe if they did there wouldn't be so many kids getting themselves in trouble with drinking, drugs, etc. We found out when moving here there are a few people that basically own West Plains and have pretty much total control on what comes in to West Plains. The so called "FATHER'S of West Plains, too bad cause they are stunting the growth of West Plains. Same goes for decent places to eat, there's only three places that I think have at least fairly good food, that's Brenda's, Ruby Tuesday's, and the fairly new one PIG'N N GRINNIN. Coles is kind of off/on. Sometimes it's good other's like the last time we were in there it was not so good.I find the one in Mt.Home to be better, actually we go that way to eat more often cause they have more to offer there.

I grew up in a city of 2 million. Tons of things to do. But, my favorite memories were things that we thought up. For example, we put lazy boys, bean bags, sleeping bags etc.. in the back of our trucks and go out to the dessert and watch scary movies (by generator). Or, went to the park and brought nice china and candlelight and would go through the drive thru somewhere and eat burgers and fries by candlelight in the park. Silly but fun... More memorable than going to a bar or a movie. :)

Well, it depends on what ya lookin' for. Lot's to do unless ya want "city entertainment" .... if that's the case, move to the "city". Otherwise, you can fish, hunt, go floatin', campin', hikin', horse back ridin', 4 wheelin'.... or learn to garden, cuz spring is right aroung the corner! Learn to enjot nature! We got lots of that. Enjoy!!!

Your right about there not being alot of happy people in West Plains and the surrounding towns! Winter here is boring, however, summers are great. I love going to the lake or the river. This is a wonderful place to visit but not so much to live here!

There is a whole other world outside this place! Any place would be better than this place!
