Had a family member that worked there for 10 yrs. They don't treat the employee’s right and only care about the board members padding their pocket. That could be a good hospital under the right management but until then they will always be just a Band-Aid hospital (a place to stop on the way to a real hospital). Yes they have grown in size but have not grown in what matters as far as what is best for their employee’s, the patients. All that matters are the board members.
Is this coming from an employee who knows first hand?

Have you compared their wages and benefits to other places around?

Do you know what the average number of days employers in the United States allow for paid vacation per year? 13!

Guess how many OMC provides?

I have no issues with my treatment. And no I am not a higher up or board member.

But please enlighten us on how the board members are having their pockets "padded".

Every hospital in the US is struggling with the nursing shortage. High turnover job. OMC is no different than any other hospital with that issue.

Exactly. If you look at Baxter or basically any other hospital you will find the exact same thing.

They treat the nurses horrible. Administration is clueless. Actually Baxter does not have nearly as many nurse job openings as OMC. They have a much better reputation. Too far to travel so my wife is stuck with OMC.

By the way, OMC administration really does not care about good patient care. All they ever talk about is money and the nurses get a little tired of hearing about it.

That is funny considering patient care = reimbursement rate.

I cannot speak as an employee, but I got great care there in ICU and after ICU in a regular room. The doctors, nurses, CNA's, and technicians were wonderful. The hospital and staff is so much better than that joke of a hospital in Mountain Home.

Nope. Have never and will never work in health care. Believe what you want, I know the truth. Everything I stated is indeed factual.

Nursing homes also have a high turnover but RN's at least make about $5.00 an hour more.

VA rarely has openings because they are union and employees get treated well. They also hire internally first so even a vet doesn't have priority in getting hired.

Home Health has to do on-call and go to strange peoples houses in the middle of the night...my wife had a friend who had a gun pulled on her..so no thanks.

Burton Creek and the other doctors offices are not OMC and they treat their nurses well...so..they don't leave...so no openings.

You don't really know too much about this subject but thats ok because now you do.
