I was driving with my kids this Sunday when I saw a group of people holding signs that read "Pray away abortion" "Adopt. Ugh, West Plaisn doesn't have an abortion clinic and from what I see ever 14 year old had her kid, so what the hell? LOL Why don't these people hold signs saying "Pray to end child/world hunger" "Feed the poor, shoe the children that are already here"? They seemed like a bunch of showboater not really doing anything productive, like supplying single teens moms in the area with child care, diiapers or birth control education.

I am sorry you guys feel this way. Their may not be an abortion clinic in West Plains, but it is still an issue in our town, county, state, & Nation. It takes people standing together and making their voice known & not letting the government "decide" what is best for innocent lives.

The reason for the sign holding is because it was Pro-Life Prayer Chain Day. Across the nation, towns everywhere were gathering to pray for life. We may not have an abortion clinic in West Plains but that doesn't mean that innocent lives aren't destroyed. People from West Plains, Willow Springs, Mtn. View, and all towns still go where there are abortion clinics. There are many ways to get involved and help end innocent lives being killed> Its about people trying to get the word out, praying for our nation, calling senators and congressman to voice our concerns about bills that are being passed under the radar that allow abortion or other misc issues that have to do with abortion.
By the way there is an organization and people that are doing something about all of this. Howell County Right to Life is a chapter in Howell County that is trying to make an effort in pro-life causes. Getting the word out & raising funds to help with this issue. They also have lots of members who go to Washington DC every year for the March for Life in January. They are trying to raise money to help pregnant women that may be struggling with this issue.

It isn't we want the government deciding stuff for us, its just that we damm sure do not want a bunch of hippocritical right wing religious nut jobs deciding what's right and wrong for us. Who do you people think you are to even try to sway dominion over another person anyway? We will never allow you to do this and the more you a-holes push for laws to restrict us the more we will push back for laws to protect our freedom.
If you really was truly concerned with the issue you and your following would step up and adopt all the children in orphanages. If your fed-up group wants to complain then you should take total responsibility for raising the bastards without my tax dollars.

And exactly how are pregnant women helped with this money? What about after the delivery of the child? I suggest you take a look around or take a survey. West Plains has a problem with teen pregnancy and children being neglected. There is a growing epidemic in this area of grandparents raising their grandchildren, too. Then there are all the women and girls struggling to raise children on their own who are constantly browbeaten for being on assistance. Those attitudes need to change. Pro-lifers go the distance. Pro-fetus clammer all day about babies in the womb and then turn into hypocritical asses after the child gets here and the 16 year old can't support it on her own. Then they act as if mama should have 2 or 3 jobs to get it done, while the child sits in daycare and is raised by others. That is not a quality life for a child. And why the hell don't deadbeat parents get forced into work programs?

Perhaps your right to life group could become involved with a right to a decent life for kids already here and living in poverty. God only knows there are plenty of them here. Are you concerned only with a fetus? Or are you concerned with children? Would you pay a substantially higher tax rate to end child poverty in our country? Or will you set back in your smugness congratulating one another on your righteousness?

First of all abortion is NOT legal in the state of Missouri, they shut down all abortion facilities in this state several years ago. Second of all, I understand that anyone with some sort of human compassion would think that abortion is murder. People are going to have their own opinions no matter what it is. People are going to argue about whatever they want just to argue. People can even go so far as to argue about what foods we eat can cause some kind of cancer due to the pesticides they are sprayed with. We can all sit here all day long and argue about what we believe is right or wrong but in the end you are not helping nor stopping the people that are doing this. So why is it so important for you to try and control someones life. I don't like drug addicts but I don't go around preaching to them. Humans have the ability to make their own choices and it shouldn't be up to someone else how they live their lives or what they do with their life. These people that are having abortions have nothing to do with your life or anything that goes on in your life so why must you hate so much. Let them be, let them live and fall and make their own mistakes. People can't learn from their mistakes if we are constantly trying to correct them in our own ways. That is why the world is so screwed up, we conform to others beliefs and values rather than finding out for ourselves and growing as a human being should!

Okay gravedigger, you do make a valid point regarding silence. Not something I had thought about when making my initial post. But, I myself am not going to speak out regarding my thoughts or beliefs on abortion. It's not my place to judge someone based on something they have done. I don't know their situation. I will say though that I do believe there are certain situations that could arise that I don't feel that a woman or girl should be forced to carry a fetus. I do not think that it should be used as a form of birth control at all and yes it is used in that form a lot. It's not always a bad thing to let people fall on their face and learn from their mistakes. The best thing my parents did for me growing up was letting me fall. If I would have been told what to do my entire life I wouldn't have my own thoughts and opinions, I couldn't think for myself or make my own choices which is the ultimate point I am trying to make here.

There are more children going hungry in MO than there are being aborted, but who is worried about that, right? Where is the prayer chain for that? Let me know where and when and I will go hold a sign for all the kids who made it here to be fed, clothed and loved.

dont think you can get an abortion in missouri,,,and if the women are going out of state or across state if it is legal in missouri,,,the area that woman lives in,,,in missouri would have no record of an abortion being done,,,so you dont really know the count on the abortions being done to compare the murderd babies to the hungry children,,,

How do you know they are hypocritical? Do you know them individually?? I don't understand how it can upset you, when all we were doing was trying to get the word out that the pregnant and scared aren't alone and they have options. And I know plenty of non Christians that are pro life. Explain that to me
