That BBQ is the only real BBQ in town. Pit smoked, not sauced. My family has had BBQ restaurants in Memphis all my life & the almost famous BBQ rates right there with it. My wife & I have tried the other BBQ places in town and almost famous is the real McCoy. BBQ is NOT meat with BBQ sauce, just sayin...the best of luck to them in their new location.

Then you need to go back to memphis and have bbq that isn't so dry you choke on it. Sorry. Real BBQ may not have sauce, but it isn't that dry either. I'm willing to give them another chance as long as they lure me in with some sort of deal. Sorry all those involved with almost famous, but your rep sucks. Need to change that before people will come back.

(by the way, real memphis bbq melts in your mouth. almost famous was like sawdust last time I went)

Everyone of Norton's posts are 100% bullsh*t, except this review... Memphis BBQ is moist, flavorful, and mildly spiced without drowning in sauce...

Lower the cooking temperature and increase the humidity(steam) of the cooking process, and you will have perfection !!!!

I think the bar b cue from Almost Famous is good, but not great. I eat there at least once a week however.

I do wonder what they are thinking with the brisket, it is done like pulled pork. If I wanted pulled pork I would ask for it - brisket is sliced!

I went...terribly dissapointed. Could tell the new owners/cooks were definately using the microwave more than potters old owners. It is just not the same.

Well I'm sorry, I just figured by the way the pulled pork tasted (like plastic) that it was microwaved. I guess it's just been stored in the freezer too long. Also the roast beef was way soggier than Potter's used to serve. If you are going to saturate the bread then at least toast it. Oh and belle....I had no idea that you couldn't cook catfish and French fries in the microwave! Thanks for letting me know. If you don't want to hear my honest opinion...and try and shut me down, this is what you are going to get.

Are you blonde? Or just dumb? Do you think that maybe I was in a group of people? Plus the group ahead of us ordered a chili dog and got chili fries. I bet they won't be back either. All that I can tell you is that the food is not being held to the standards it was before. Plus it looks really tacky to have duct tape over the items on the menu they have taken off. Now I would recommend getting things right before you run off too many off Potter's customers. Shut down for a week if you have to or whatever. You will not succeed if you are hard headed.

I'd rather see tape to know what they are carrying. From what I understand, some of the things that Potter's carried wasn't a good seller. Perhaps they are trying to get used to the new menu? Luckily, most people have been patient & understanding during their transition. My wife & I have eaten there twice this week. The owners are great people, they are just trying to learn a new menu, new staff & new place. We'll continue to support them. I'm sure they are working hard to get the bugs worked out.

I can see your point "shut the front door", however, I think it is better to either take the old menu down and have a copy menu or to use a sharpie and black out what you are not carrying. But when walked n (and did not know that they had changed hands until I did) I immediately knew that something had happened. The place was empty and a little depressing. The duct tape and empty coke coolers did not help. I hope they can get it together, but I personally have high expectations after becoming accustomed to Potter's food. It was one of my favorite places to eat.
PS....I did not see anyone I knew there...(that meaning no "old potters" staff)

The new owners are working hard to get the new menu up. They don't like the way it looks either. The new owners kept 2 of the previous workers. They are doing the best they can, ordering new menus & signs & running the place for 14 hours a day. Please be patient with them. They haven't changed ANY of the recipes from the previous owners.

Nope, not dumb or blonde at all.. Just seems like you like to run down people and businesses that really try hard. As far as the menu goes, they are getting a new one and what was duct taped were NOT good sellers according to the previous owners.. Now i suggest you shut your mouth and tend to your own business. And telling lies can lead to ........

Worst food EVER! Greasy, cold, inedible. Won't be back.
