My only issue with Little Red Firehouse is that during the summer they do absolutely NOTHING but play outside. I understand they want all the kids to have the summer off but if thats the case then charge a little less during the summer months or something. One other issue is that my son was FILTHY when I picked him up. If he had an accident he would come home in girls clothes or whatever was available. So you cant expect to go anywhere with your kids when you pick them up. With that, most of the staff was great! Ms Pam was strict and runs a tight ship but this reflects in the kids behaviors and manners. You got to take the good with the bad I guess. Id be interested in finding out who you chose.
Just FYI, I don't work at Little Red Fire House, but do work at A daycare in WP. As far as your child going home in girl's clothes, it's your responsibility as a parent to bring your child extra clothes if they are still having accidents. As far as him going home dirty, those teachers should have been cleaning him up before he leaves. Maybe you should speak up. Sometimes that's how to get things done.

You can google how to check if people are licensed in certain counties or not and it is updated frequently! As of April 1, 2010 you can see if they are licensed or not. So just go to Dept of Human Services Licensed Childcare providers and it will lead you to see who is licensed in the area and who is not! You have to watch out for the creeps these days!

Sorry! My computer bumped me off! But as I was saying you have to watch out for the creeps! When I lived in Mountain Grove, I had a friend that had a terrible experience and had to pull her kid out of an unlicensed day care because the lady had too many kids, her neighbor had reported her. My two daughters go to Learning Tree and it is a wonderful place! Hope that website helps you!

I take my son to little angels daycare, I love it down there, they open at 6:30 and close at 5:30, my son loves it down as well, they also do learning activities, and they take them on walks as well, if the weather is nice they will take them outside (if parents allows), and if its rainy or cold they will walk them around inside the church. My son loves the walks, they have strollers that hold 6 kids (i think), one day i picked him up early and he happened to be on a walk and he started crying he wanted to stay. It makes you feel good when your child wants to go to daycare everyday. i would recommend little angels to anyone.

Thanks! This will be helpful! I have heard good things about Tadpoles. Does anyone know anything about them!
My 2 year old goes to Learning Tree and I love it! He already knows most of his shapes, all of his colors, recognizes Letters, and is potty trained. The teachers are great!

Why didn't you provide extra clothing for him to be changed into?

Good luck. Most of them have long waiting lists. I prefer someone I know to watch my child. They get better care that way.

I'm not sure really, I know the Learning Tree has been around forever. Thats where I went in 1981-1983. The same lady still owns it if I'm not mistaken. But I could be.

yes i sent my kids to wonderland as well...but pulled them out when i walked in on a screaming fight between the owner and two employees in the middle of a room filled with babies! Also, there were often employees boyfriends and other people in the facility and I don't believe people who are not employees should be spending time there. There's no way to know their backgrounds or history.

My children have went to learning tree, and love it. Ms. Moore was amazing, although she has since sold it to Coach Pond (richards school) and his wife. We were only there a short time, under the new ownership, so I can't say how it is now. I recently went back to work, and my children have started at Circus Circus. What I have seen so far has been great, and I have no complaints.

I agree. My daughter goes to Little Angels and she loves it. She is 3 and and can talk tells me that every one is nice. And they have locked doors so just anyone can't go in. I took her to wonderland and will never look at that place the same. The workers yell at the kids and the owner acts like she is hung over half the time. I seen her grab a kid (i think it was hers)by his broken arm and yank him back one day. I thought if she does that in front of ME what does she do behind closed doors?

Ok the truth is that there is going to be good and bad said about every daycare. What is a good fit for one family will not be for another. I work at a daycare in WP and use to work at wonderland and one thing I can say for the owner is that she has a heart of gold and lets parents run all over and leave with big enormous bills. She is to soft hearted and always feels sorry for the kids. She needs to toughen up on everyone.

you should see if Saleena has any opening. by far the best. it is really hard to get your kids in because she is always full. we've been using her for over 4 years. you can't find a better person with children. she is in the phone book. last name is barett. least i think that is how you spell her last name. does a wonderful job

How much do the daycares cost there? We are thinking of moving there and we will be needing daycare.
