Look, I've already heard all of the nasty horror stories about Country Mart okay! That's not why I'm here. Topix is a gossip mother load. SO I was wondering if anyone knew what was going on with Country Mart?

I went in to buy a few things on sale recently and noticed some changes. They've painted most of the outside roof/awning Red (it used to be orange). They've added a wall by the dairy section. Not sure how to describe it. But it looks to me like they may be closing off that part to make for more storage?? They have 5 new cashier stations sitting on pallets in the dairy section along with three HUGE lines of brand new carts. I looked at these carts and they are a different style than the other shopping carts in this area. The baskets are not as deep and the cart itself seems longer. Being the nosy person I am, I looked at the handles on the cart where the store name is usually stamped and they were all blank. They've painted over the green and orange stripes with white.

I don't want to get ahead of myself but it seems to me like a new grocery store may be taking over country mart. Country Mart Store colors are Green and Orange (if you look on their website the logos are even green and orange) so why else would they start painting stuff red?

Just curious if anyone has the inside scoop.

they were sold, but they haven't closed yet, so it wasn't suppose to be out yet...

They were bought out by a company I never heard of and don't remember it.

first lesson of the internet, people will pretend to know anything to get attention.

Country Mart is still owned by town and country just like before. They are merely renovating and rebranding. They will be called CashSaver.

I actually have no problem with country mart. IN MY OPINION, it's not the cleanest place to shop so I usually end up going to Walmart. I was just curious if it was just the owners deciding to upgrade and make it nicer or if they were bought out and a new store was going in.

After all of the changes are done, I think it will probably become the main place I do our household's shopping.
I actually HATE shopping at walmart, but I find too many things at Ramey's are overpriced.

What's Cash Saver like? Is it basically the same as Country Mart, or does it have different policies and such?

Also if you check out Country Mart's website. West Plains is no longer listed.

Not sure if that's because our Country Mart is 'employee owner' though.

Country Mart was bought out by Cash Savers. Cash Savers used to be called E W James....They changed names because they are a rip off.

if someone did buy it, hope it's cleaner than what it was. Won't shop in there cause it is filthy and cold.
