Animal control director at center of sterilization fight in Pal...

Animals have a way of finding Dianne Sauve. Like when a herd of cows strayed into her yard, scattered manure and ate all the blooming impatiens she had planted. Full Story

Can I propose a bill to sterilize inmates at the county jail?

Then there would be more room in PBC for all the stray cats and dogs.

Largely unenforceable; but if it takes a law to "encourage" people to sterilize pets then it's long overdue. Thousands of unwanted pets will be spared euthanasia. Hopefully other counties will quickly follow suit.

Diane Sauve is trying to solve the problems that exist with too many breeders and a society where dogs are disposable. Amy Gordon breeds schnauzers for money. I wonder how many of her schnauzers caused taxpayer dollars to be spent on caring for her schnauzers at Animal Services? Diane Sauve is my hero for trying to solve the animal overpopulation problem.

So much of the problem boils down to MONEY. First the cost to pet owners to have their pet sterilized. Vet charges are increasing just as human health care is. Second, breeders don't want to report all the litters they have and give them the proper health care because it eats away their profit. Third, educating the public about owning and caring for a pet is expensive. Policing after enacting laws costs more than most communities are willing to spend on an animal.

Communistic Palm Beach County!
I can't believe the Palm Beach Post, only allows letters to the Editor from the ones who want this passed, and NOT from the opposed!
And to write Digs about Commissioner Kanjian, two days in a row is total BS, & one sided reporting. Shame on PALM BEACH POST!
Writer Frank Cerabino, forgot to mention, the "other" attorney, Shannon Fox is a former attorney for PETA, A Terrorist group, who drew up the draft ordinance!
Kanjian was the only Commissioner who took time to study the so called "problem",
The Draft ( PETA Influenced), IS un constitutional, while the rest of the Commissioners sat with closed minds.
And I will not forget Diane Sauve of ACC, comment, "we can move if we don't like it!"
Is this not the USA, or are we allowing total dictatorship of our lives, living in Palm Beach County?
We need to take this to a higher level!

The answer to Fran Milano's question below is 0 because Amy Gordon is a responsible breeder and even by Diane Suave's own admission, the animals showing up in the shelter are not from the responsible breeders. Diane Suave says she will deal with the breeders who are the problem at her shelter by instituting "selective enforcement" which should strike fear in the hearts of all of us. Is that the U.S. Constitution being tramped on?

Suave and Fix are zealous ideologues. This will not solve the problem. The strays in PBC are all mutts. The only people who will comply are not the ones creating the problem.

Now it is 2012 and ACC is in a tyrant trying to pin down breeders so they wont look like idiots.
Giving wrongfull citatations out SETTING MULTI DOG OWNERS UP FOR FAILURE and making the citations stick through the local Justace system yes did you not know PETA has Justice system friends who believe. ACC is out of control and seems to be a paronoia in a cloud of PETA "well i dont own a dog but i am rich and there can be donations if i photoshop pictures of animal abuse and intimadation cause i know better then the dog community" effect halo of Flager Avenue" My money can buy your UNhappyness and jail time because "I am Rich" what happened to the Protection through our now Dog Eared Commission to protect the people in our community against rabid , aggressive child, man eating dogs and Verman (they now pay a service to remove the animals). Acc please stop taking donations from PETA and do our community the Justice to protect, Breeders are your least enemy actually they bring you income. I guess it is the lure of "easy money".
