He would've been better off if he had just loaded the TV into a shopping cart, and walked out the door with it. I read in a paper, recently, that the losses at Wal-Mart stores, across the country, due to both employee AND customer theft, is rising. It's called, "leakage."

Good point! Excellent work by the security guard. People are doing this all over the country and then selling them, mostly in the "hood". Just a case of more animals driving up taxes by committing crimes.

It's been documented: To avoid hiring troublemakers, Wal-Mart purposely hires dumb people -- for example, the cashier who didn't think it a big deal that the TV rang up for only $4.88.

How is that the case? Becase I HATE criminals? And don't tell me I am a racist. I could care less about color. I only care about actions and if you want to be a civilized person you don't commit crimes like an animal who doesn't know better.

You didn't READ the story. The guy went to a self-checkout lane. There was no cashier. It was discovered by loss prevention personnel; people who were monitoring the self-checkout lanes.

The article stated he went to a self check out...meaning no cashier.

"The cashier was probably in on it."

Duh. Self-checkout lane. The checkout lane wasn't manned. You see, THIS is WHY the Founding Fathers created the Electoral College to elect presidents. They didn't trust "the rabble" (common folk to you) with something as important as electing a leader. You know something? Based on the stupidity I see, everyday, on these boards, THEY WERE RIGHT!!!

Why? Because she speaks the truth?

Here's a little FYI:

Shoplifting has a direct impact on retail pricing of consumer goods.

After all, you don't expect merchants to suffer the loss do you?
