My wife and I cruise a lot. ICE is no bargain for cruises. We received a telephone call this afternoon from ICE. Is that the vacation that Legends is trying to offer us again? Has anyone else received this call again?

Update on the Home Front:
At last night's Town Council meeting, both ordinances-the one for Legends and the one for Mulvihill were passed, despite the fact that neither has paid their taxes yet. The next step is the actual redevelopment agreement and site plans that iron out the nuts and bolts of the ordinances. The Legends Redevelopment ordinance calls for the agreement to be in place by July 31st and taxes must be paid prior to the signing of these agreements. The meeting began at 7 pm. At 5 pm, I spoke via phone with David Callaghan of Interval International. He's the person who wrote the letter on Nov 15 to Mr. Meyers and Mr. Warrington granting conditional affliation of Legends with II based upon a reinspection of Legends by March 31st. He told me that Legends is not at this time affiliated with II but "Don't give up hope." I conveyed this to the Town Council last night.... |

This looks like a good sign to me. My husband and I just got back from Atlantis in the Bahamas. They are an II resort and are not affiliated with RCI. The place was great-we went on this trip via a name brand timeshare purchase. I will tell you this, if they get Legends into II-it will be a success story! |
My husband and I were thinking of going to Atlantis. Because of the meal deals, we're not sure since they want you to book at the various restaurants before you even travel there. We like staying at resorts that are all-inclusive like the Occidental in Aruba since there are no added costs. If you could provide me with any details about your trip, I would appreciate it. |

Did anything ever happen with the new appeal? Do we have any legal representation? Does anyone have any idea?
The new appeal has not happened yet. When Judge Gannon files the dismissal, then the appeal can be filed. I have no idea what is taking so long. We are still in the same holding pattern.

Lynn, Atlantis was great! The food is very expensive as are the drinks. We ate a-la carte (no meal plan) and wound up spending just under $700. If you prefer fancier restaurants you can pay $100 per person. Carmine's (affiliated with the one in NY) was outstanding. One dish feeds two so we had the eggplant parm and a ceasar salad. Because we were in a timeshare we took home left overs and had them another night. Murray's Deli and Bimini Road were also very good and resonably priced. When we went to Nassau we ate a Senior Frog-excellent! The drinks are watered down so you should buy your own liquor when you get there. Otherwise, your best bet would be to get straight alchol that you know-like a martini or wine. I am suprised they even offered you a meal plan because the timeshare told us they weren't offering them anymore-double check with the resort. No problems with the water at all. There is a ferry that you can take to Nassau for $3-well worth the trip. Also, we went on a dinner cruise (Seahorse)that was great. You must go on the lazy river where you can visit the Falls (an awesome burst of energy). Visit The Dig and the Preditor exhibits (free to guests of the hotel). Marina, beach, pools, and other grounds are beautiful. Free shuttles to all the different areas of the grounds. Casino is NOT fixed. I won enough on the nickel slots in two days to pay for our entire bill. Have fun!!! |
Thanks for the input . We stayed at Cable Beach a few years ago, and we traveled to Atlantis where we visited the casino and the aquarium. I would like to stay there but it is far more expensive at Atlantis than at the resort that we stayed at on Cable Beach in Nassau. What was the night life like ?? I didn't know there was a waterfall on Paradise Island. |
Welllll, there are lots of little water falls built in to the landscaping. The falls I was referring to is a "ride". Your tube goes up this really long conveyer belt (after meanering down the lazy river with you in it)and then you can go on one of two "rides". The falls shoots you through water tunnels and the drop is a water slide. You don't have to go to this part of the lazy river but both rides were exhilarating-even my husband liked them and he doesn't like roller coasters. We spent most evenings at the Marina where there is usually a live band in front of the Bimini Road restaurant/bar (good, reasonably price food), dancing in the street-fun. There are several night clubs, casino, dinner cruises, the yachts all over the marina are always nice to watch. End of May and June are the rainy season-stay away. |

Robin, When and if the deal does go through with
II, how will this affect us? Does that mean we can once again trade our doomed timeshares?? |
Diane, I'm not holding my breath. Frankly, I would be shocked if II did affiliate with Legends. I think it's all smoke and mirrors. I hope I'm wrong. If Legends does affiliate with II, I assume we will be able to trade through II.
Regarding the class action, the New Jersey Herald's Thursday paper had a article about the state of disarray in the Sussex County Court system and the article stated that Judge Gannon may come back in a limited manner on Monday. He had dismissed the class action but left for 2 months and never actually dismissed the case FORMALLY(I forget what that's called) so the class action attorney was unable to formally appeal it. I feel more optimistic regarding that piece of the puzzle. I think we have a good chance at an appeal-once it can be made, that is! |

I am also an owner of the "Legends Nightmare".
I have been out of the loop for awhile, but would like to add my email address to a list so that I might be made aware of what is going on. I am receiving collection letters on a monthly basis from Star Island Collections, and do Not plan on paying them a dime. I have left several messages with them but have never received a call back. I appreciate everything that is being done by all those involved to help out the owners. I live in New Jersey and listen to 101.5fm in the morning. Jim Gerhart, the morning guy would have a field day with this story. He is always carrying on about ways that money is being wasted in NJ by our government. Maybe he can open the eyes and the ears of the blind and deaf in this situation. I will see what I can do. Thanks again for everyone pulling together on this one! |

We received a maintenance bill from Legends for
well over $1,000...this being the first bill we have received in a long, long, time. Of course, we will not pay it even though they threaten late fees, no access timeshare, etc. I will send it back with the usual note that since there are no usable timeshares at Legends and it is not with RCI, then what maintenance are they doing? Are they a joke or what? |
I just recently found this site. Is it too late to get involved in the lawsuit? The only thing that we had received is a package from ICE and a maintenance bill. |
We would appreciate if someone could email us with any info regarding Legends. bsha@optonline.net
I, too, just received another bill for maintenance fees for over $1,000 since it includes late fees, interest, etc. Again, I will write and email them that I have no intention of paying since there has been no "maintenance" of the property and no trading ability whatsoever.
If there could be an affiliation with II, that would be great! However, I do not plan on holding my breath waiting for that to happen since a LOT has to happen at the Legends Resort before that affiliation could even be considered. |
I too listen to Jim Erhardt in the morning. He is very well-informed about many matters that apoply to living in NJ. I would be happy if you got in touch with him, and would eagerly lend my support to your efforts. |

Robin, It has been several years since I have visited the Lengends Resort. I use to go with my two children to go horseback riding and go to the water park. I have been reading all of the comments in this forum and still don't know exactly what I should be doing. I have paid my 2008 invoice in full. Would it be possible to set up a meeting somewhere near the Legends for owners like me who need to be doing something more than just reading. Let me know. Thanks!

Hi Tom. I see pages back that LOU advised you of the email address. Email there for info. I'm surprised that you paid your maintenance fee after reading the posts. Personally, I have not. In fact, when we called FL, we were told NOT to pay by "Denise" since we have no timeshare exchange company and have not had one since Aug. of 2005-almost 3 years now. Affiliation with II is, at this time, more empty promises.

Where do we stand as far as our appeal in court
is concerned? What happened to Judge Gannon that he was gone for 2 months? If it was for some sort of incompetence and he was ordered to take a 2 month "vacation"...we certainly would have a great chance of appealing our case... |
