WOW, That's just a unfortunate accident. Official's say. This young man's life nothing. Funny thing is that .I heard of all the dangers for everyday citizen's setting off fireworks because it's illegal.Agreed that fireworks can be a hazzard .I'm certain that if this was a civilian it would not be a unfortunate accident.Official's seem to love to sweep things under the carpet.

I just don't get it. All this information on how deadly fireworks can be and Pennsylvania has laxed it's laws on their usage.

Why can you buy fireworks in this state after so many years they were banned? I'm sure they were banned for a very good reason. Guess the law won't be changed till a civilian gets killed.

There was just a documentary on yesterday morning that chronicled Zambelli and what goes into making, setting up and launching fireworks. They are one of the biggest names out there. Judging from the documentary it appears they take safety very seriously.
Side Note: The documentary said that the display they were doing for the show was a New Years Eve show in Baltimore, it would be 19 minutes long and cost more than $8000 a minute.
Bethlehem has 4 displays per year,
New Years Eve early, New years eve at midnight, July 4th, Musicfarce... although I suppose Musicfarce pays for theirs.

Guns and Bullets kill plenty of civilians...should the State take our right to carry arms away? Cars kill even more civilians... Food recalls kill civilians....at what point would you draw the line as to what is legal v illegal?

It makes no sense to me why anyone would condone fireworks. Let's see...spend your hard-earned money, just to explode something, risking a fire, risking permanent injury or death, causing noise and air pollution...all for one little "oohh" or "ahhh"?? What is right about that?
People who love fireworks are irresponsible and foolish lemmings.
This idiot choose to "work" with fireworks. He knew they were dangerous! He got exactly what he deserved, foolishly working around something that is specifically designed to explode. I have no sympathy for people like this. None!

Just think, two days ago this young kid was alive, enjoying life and looking forward to a lifetime ahead. Had he chosen not to foolishly mess with something that he KNEW was dangerous, he would still be alive today.
For you those of you who say that driving is risky, you are RIGHT. The big difference here is that unlike driving, the ONLY purpose for fireworks is to put those who use them directly in harm's way. There is no benefit to fireworks, whatsoever. Driving, eating, working, etc., all have a purpose other than causing danger and you know it!
"There is no benefit to fireworks, whatsoever." They are entertainment, that is the benefit. By your flawed logic we need to ban sports, movies, music, etc, anything that's only purpose is to entertain should be made illegal by your thought process. It is my opinion that people with your philosophical background are far more dangerous than the possibility of an accidental fireworks mishap.

no he chose to have a job. tell me my dear what purpose does driving have? is there not mass transit? cabs? subways etc? youre foolish and hate filled towards someone who it seems did nothing wrong other than try to entertain people and make an honest days pay.

I hate fireworks, and for good reason. The noise scares my dogs. and they are SO Dangerous! I hate this time of year! Had some idiots that live behind us setting their own off, drunk none the less! I was waiting for them to burn down the neighborhood! The cops should have put a stop to it after the 1st BANG!

Oh, and did you CALL the cops after the 1st BANG to tell them that your neighbor was allegedly committing an illegal act?

You're always in harm's way in a vehicle that weighs at least a ton & has the capability of going speeds in excess of 80 mph. Just waking up in the morning or the mere act of being born puts us in harm's way every second of every waking moment. We may as well just live in a bubble.
