They aren't worth this when they're "working", let alone retired

Salary of retired US Presidents ..........180,000 FOR LIFE
Salary of House/Senate ..........174,000 FOR LIFE
Salary of Speaker of the House ..........223,500 FOR LIFE
Salary of Majority/Minority Leaders .......$193,400 FOR LIFE!

Average Salary of a teacher ..........40,065
Average Salary of Soldier D...EPLOYED IN AFGHANISTAN .......$38,000

Think about this. Nancy Pelosi will retire as a Congress Person at $174,000 Dollars a year for LIFE. She has retired as SPEAKER at $223,500 a year. PLUS she will receive an additional $193,400 a year as Minority Leader.
That's $803,700 Dollars a year for LIFE including FREE medical which is not available to US...the taxpayers? She is just one of the hundreds of Senators and Congress that float in and out every year! I think we found where the cuts should be made! If you agree pass it on, I just did.

Did anyone see all the budget cuts and programs that will be stopped this year. Their suppose to be working FOR the American people NOT taking away everything they've got so they can increase their bank accounts. What are they trying to do, situp there in Washington and eliminate the middle and lower class. Maybe they've forgot that we're the ones who's paying their ridiculous salary.

Are you just now figuring this out? It's been going on as long as I can remember. We have no control over what they do.

Everyone has a choice of what they do with thier lives. If you want to be rich then by all means go out and get rich. You had the same opportunity as everyone else to go to school etc... In most cases people in this area have more opportunities because they are low income and get it paid free by the taxpayer in the form of grants. I chose my profession knowing I wouldn't get rich as that don't matter to me personally.
However I don't agree with the salaries of our elected officials. I am a firm believer once they leave public office so does all the perks that go with it, starting with the salary and insurance and ending with secret service protection. If the working man can't have these perks after they leave a job then why should our elected officials.
