I think some of your opinions are bad of Brian Turner. I have known Mr. Turner and his wife for several years and his children as well.. I think someone here is speaking behind the wheel so to speak,,,,thinking you know something when you don't know anything about the something your speaking of here. Mr. Turner uses the coaching tech of Hard Core Hard Work Good Results.....go easy on him,,,,he's trying.....just like the rest of us......just trying to survive the world.....

I can't believe that some of you people are giving Brian Turner such a hard time. It's funny how when something good (such as the MCMS football team going the entire season undefeated) is going on in Morgan County, people start talking bad about the person responsible. It sounds to me like someone is jealous that their not getting the attention. I think Advanced Placement is somebody who wanted the middle school coaching job but was turned down. Just admit that Brian Turner is a good coach and has brought something good to this town and has given us something to be proud of. I for one am proud of the Middle School team and Coach Turner. I agree that it's not just the coach that makes a winning team but it takes someone the kids respect and want to play hard for. Brian might think he knows what he is doing just because he came from Breathitt County, but lets admit, Breathitt County knows how to play football and obviously the love of the game wore off on Coach Turner. I hope that MCMS goes to state and makes this county proud!!!! GO COUGARS!!!!

I Know couch Turner, good family man, beautiful wife, two adorable boys. the record for the MCMS football team speaks for itself. Sometimes he may seem to be a little hard, but remember football is a hard game and not easy, it takes discipline to play well. Good Luck MCMS Cougars, you have played well, with honesty and you should be proud of yourselves.

Turner is great - I do remember him "restoring the roar" at MC his 3 win season. A bunch of boys can be coached by a christian man and when he left it looked as if the program was in need of a better coach because he set the bar so high, which they found. I believe that turner set up that incoming coach with what he did in the 3 wins that only season as head coach. A lot of people were disappointed when Turner resigned for whatever reasons, but the program survived.
Just because you are christian don't make you no better a person or coach. A quality person and quality coach will make an impact on young men for knowing how to handle them, knowing the game, and teaching the right technique/fundamentals.
But I so remember thinking of a song by Billy Ray Cyrus that would capture that moment at RCSHS after we beat the Vikes!
If I am not wrong I beleive that Coach Turner stated that he left the High School team was so that could could spend more time with his family and the church that he attends.
As for being a Christian, a true Christain is a better person!
You said it yourself when stated in your post "A quality person and quality coach will make an impact on young men for knowing how to handle them, knowing the game, and teaching the right technique/fundamentals." Coach Turner has made an impact on the Middle School football program. The problem is when they get in High School and if the High School coach isn't very good or really don't know what he is doing is when the program falls apart.

He is supposed to be go to Church and be kind and fair to the kids but he degrades them everytime they turn around. He needs to get over himself for sure

I'm sorry, Knowing, that you think that the way to coach football players is to make daisy chains with harp music in the background and words as soft and light as feathers. Coach Turner has helped those boys play as a team and be at their best. I have been in this county all my life, and this is really the first time that a sports team has excelled so well. Coach Turner is doing a fantastic job, and as far as I can tell, the kids like him.

A coach has to be hard on players to get them tough enough to play. what do you want him to do powder their arse? they NEED disapline to play hard they can get that through hard work and a firm hand

If the board of education had any sense at all and really wanted to have a strong high school football program, they would offer the coaching job to Brian Turner. He has proven he can build a championship program. I'm just wondering if the people in charge are actually concerned about Morgan County having competitive football program at the high school level. We will see.

Turner should be the high school coach. Then maybe our football team wouldn't be such an embarrassment.

Sad thing is rumors are flying that if Trusty and Perry have there way football will be done away with. I hope there are enough citizens, parents, and booster to petition this so it won't happen. I wonder if these little 8th graders will get any recognition and be treated as the high school boys were when they won the region in basketball. Don't think schools will be let out, buses be taken to Lexington Catholic to watch the game or anything. I think it's sad because they will not be. I know the coaches are preparing these boys my son plays, I hope they win the state title. Football hasn't been football since herdman passed away. Hope Turner, Noble, and Brown can put our kids on the map and that in the next few years Morgan is a power house in football again. Basketball is not the only sport in the county, the middle school team nor the girls sports get the recognition that they deserve.

i think that football players get plent of recognition in the paper and radio its the kids who excel in art and music that gets none! not even when they beat in big regional compititions in art not 1 mention in the paper hell they dont even have enough supplies to work with because the county uses it for more "POPULAR THINGS AND POPULAR KIDS"
