The East Valley teachers are getting really bad lately. I've been hearing a lot of things on them, and they were always degrading when I was in elem. school there.
Anyway, in regard to the vocational school teachers, yes, they are much more professional and they teach "real world" things. They also have much less problems over there because Mr. Woods runs a tight ship. There are also cameras in every room, and in Mrs. Lindon's there are at least 5. In Mr. Harper's there are 2 and the rest of them just have one I believe. They're all very professional and I can learn easily without distractions there.
In the high school, I believe my favorite teacher would have to be Mr. Daniels. He has an inticing personality that makes even the kids that get bored easily pay attention and learn. I have him for two classes right now, and I enjoy every minute of them.
Ms. Beverly Gamble is possibly the best math teacher there, and I'm really glad I know her as a teacher and as a friend. She really does care about her students.
Connie Carpenter (Crazy Connie, as we always called her) ruined my whole 10th grade year. I don't remember anything from that class except how much I hated it.
Mr. Brown (or Coach Brown, as some may know him) is a great Psychology teacher, but seriously? I hate AP U.S. history... Its just so boring...
And.. I had Trusty for two years, in 8th grade and in 9th grade, and I hated everyday I walked in there. All he would do was lecture us about how bad of kids we were and how crappy our lives would turn out. I felt like I did something wrong everytime I walked in there, even though I have a 4.1 GPA. Yeah, so... SUCK THAT TRUSTY.
If you would have paid attention in Mrs.Carpenters class you may have actually learned something. I actually paid attention in that class and she taught me a lot about grammar and so on. But Mrs.Hornbuckle is hands down the best english teacher in that school

West liberty elem. does not do anything for our kids and familys such as basketball, cheerleading ,talent shows, ect. There are a few good teachers there but some of them spend half the day on their cell phone instead of helping our kids...If you call to speak to the teacher they tell you to call back during a certain time....100% of all the times I went there to talk to this teacher she was on her cell.and if they do try to get parents to come and do something with your kid at school it will cost you....I could go on and on...just wondering what anyone else thinks about this school....everyone has different opinions....I just feel my kid had to go to a school that isnt up to technology,or standards...just go to morgan central then go to westliberty elem. and you cant help but feel bad your kid has to go there...thanks

I did pay attention in that class everyday. But she did not make learning at all fun and made everyone adhere to "her" learning style. Not everyone learns the way she wants them to learn. And she sees no flaw in her teaching.

Mrs. Hornbuckle is great, but I believe Mr. Daniels totally surpasses her in the way that he is open for discussion and his use of symbolism in the books we read.

Did you speak to anyone about how you feel or what you saw? Maybe you should voice your opinion at a board monthly metting.

I had Mrs. Carpenter for three years in a row. At the time I was so mad because I couldn't stand her, but looking back I realize she taught me more than anyone else. I'd love to tell her that sometime. I gave her a lot of crap and she still gave me the same treatment as the other students. She truly is a GOOD teacher!!!!

For those with problems, please follow the chain of command. Please go directly to the teacher or to the principal of your school to address any concerns you have instead of flying over to the school board office immediately. Problems are referred back to their proper place, at the school level, anyway.

I graduated MCHS in 2007 and most of my teachers were amazing. Here are just a few of the many outstanding teachers at MCHS.

Mrs. Perry, Mrs. Hornbuckle, Mr. Daniels, Mrs. Huff, Ms. Gamble, Mr. Harper(vocational school), and many more.

Like everyone has said, there are bad apples in every bunch, but in my experience with AP and Honors classes all the teachers are great.

you r jokin right! you can not go to them with problems to get results or the board office for that matter, you have to go higher up. Parents need to FLY to places to get someone to clean this place up, and who ever posted this must work for the system and thinks they r doing a GREAT JOB lmfao, laughed so hard I sh** myself.

i think if the kids like the teacher that makes a difference in there grades. my son made good grades until the last 2 yrs and he said that his teachers were hateful, i think it makes a big difference. when he was in headstart i saw with my own eyes one of the headstart teachers grabbed a boy and threw him in the floor, and i thought to myself she has one time to do my child that way, and i would go off. i reported her 2 times once for that and i gave my son a hair cut and he came in that day crying and i asked him what was wrong and he said that the same teacher made fun of him and i reported her then to, and they never done nothing to her.

I do notice from ALL schools I travel to that if I had children they WOULD go to Ezel. I work within all the schools in sort of a "hidden" position and I can see that Ezel has all the elem. schools beat. Of course granting that the main parts I personally was impressed with was your own kids. Quiet, studying and not distracted or talking even when the teachers aren't watching much at all. The first time I went there I thought it was "odd" only there at that school can you stand in the hallway for hours and not hear a yell or peep out of sorts from the youngins. Jessica Dunn and a few others are bitchy and whiney but on the whole I'd say they are the best bet for kids education elementary school wise. Carol Rose holds a tight reign and I really respect her for it. I could point you out stories in other schools as a "fly on the wall" that would curdle the milk & bread.
