There are still several good supervisors on the hill. But you have to give them a chance. Also you need to remember that these supervisors are only allowed to do certain things. They are bound by policy and by what the Warden wants. It may not always please everyone but that's the way it is. I've worked several years with Mike Smith, Todd Lambert, Helton, Prater, and the like. Most of them are fair and decent. Some are jerks just like some of the C/O's. The last supervisor I worked closely with was Lt. Lambert. He is one of the few who will help the officers in their work and has always been fair in giving off days and e-vals. The two who work with him now say they'll stay in seg as long as Lambert stays there. If Lambert retires in Jan they want out of seg. They may consider staying if Lt Shane Nickell works with them.

12-8 supervisors are the worst! The favoritism is just out of this world! Only their good friends get good posts and get comp days whenever they ask and no one else can get a day off just in case "the click" wants a day off first. I think they need to rotate shift supervisors so they don't get too close to their staff and become unfair to the rest. There are some damn good officers on that shift but you will never know because they are not given a chance to prove themselves because they are buried in a dorm and not given a shot. Many people know it's very hard to tell who runs that shift. The new Captain or the ex Internal Affairs Officer who has free reign to do as he pleases. It's sad that a state facility can't act no better than a bunch of high school kids plotting against and backstabbing each other. You would think the veteran Supervisors would be better than this but they just fall in line behind the rest because no one wants to rock the boat and don't realize that the whole shift is drowning!

You are absolutly right Keith Helton is a piece of shit, oh wait that is just where he had his head up Beckstroms ass. They hated him at Little Sandy and they would have eaten him alive if Beckstrom had left him there but alas he needed his tampon because he is still ragging. You young officers better get your crap together and stick with each other. Dont turn on each other like they want you to or you might as well walk out. There motto is divid, conquer and destroy...it could be you next dont dought.
