This is a small community and from the moment it started and still continuing to do so, many many people have donated items and time to help the families.. We dont need insurance.. we have family, friends and lots of great neighbors to help out in a time of need.. God Bless the firefighters for all their hard work.. And Prayers for the families who lost everything.. Blessings to all....

Thank you very much I was one of the fire fighters that was there . As fireman we don't look for pats on the back it's our job to save lives and property if possible. In this case as many of you know from our previous block fires when they get to far inside these old buildings they are pretty much done. Thank you for the nice comments

For anyone who rents an apartment. Rental insurance is only about $150 - 200 per year. It protects you from fire, flood (also if a pipe bursts), and theft or vandalism. After seeing what happened to the people in this apartment building I will certainly make sure my children have renter's insurance wherever they happen to rent (they are in college so even for dorms it makes sense). The generosity of peoples' donations is great but knowing you are protected if anything should happen is even better.

Best move you can make because you never know . We did our best to stop it but some times it takes off and then that's when trouble starts

You all did a great job!! Especially since those buildings are so old and dry they go up so quickly. We were upset to hear about the fire, my husbands sister, who still lives there called us and told us about it. Terrible news.
