I say we get all the people on here who have nothing better to do than complain and talk trash about everyone to go clean it. I think you all would make great friends. But then again, with friends like you,who needs enemies.

Why don't you ask the Mayor what the hold up is. I am pretty sure at least one of the owners of those destroyed properties would have had it gone over a month ago if she could get the ok for demo.

There is a bunch of asbestos in the building. They tore it down and took items before finding this out. OSHA or whatevever it is called put a stop to it until an investigation is completed.

If in fact there is asbestos in that material, the whole site should be covered. You are right, the damage may well be done by now with the winds blowing and even rain washing over the rubble and disappearing in the manholes or any opening to the dirt. An old bulding of that era certainly should have been suspect for asbestos materials.
SOMEONE SHOULD SURELY ADDRESS THIS!!!!!

This is from an asbestos removal site:

"Where asbestos-containing materials are known or assumed to be present, the debris should be stabilized by wetting and covered with plastic sheeting until it is scheduled to be removed. Wind-blown dry materials will release hazardous asbestos fibers."
