That’s because you've helped make it worse. Here’s what I mean:
On TV they were interviewing a jobless couple whose house was in foreclosure. On the driveway was a Nissan. I shouted,“Hey, Guys, a couple in Japan are bowing at you in gratitude for their jobs.” Ugh! Jobless Americans driving foreign cars.....helping put even more Americans out of work! So, I tell myself: The Japanese, in particular, have been luring us for years. They give their vehicles American-sounding names. Our media give them billions in free advertising. And they flood us with seductive ads. So, no wonder we get sucked in. But as to quality, check out the March ‘09 J.D. Power report: For reliability, Buick is No. 1, and Lincoln & Mercury are in top 5. Today, differences between Japanese and American, exist only in persons' minds influenced by media who tout Japanese cars. Most media are BIASED for them. They promote Japanese cars and indirectly pan American ones. And Japanese dealers use this to sell:“Consumer Reports says, Edmunds says.” et cetera. Yes, FOR FREE, these publications sell MILLIONS of cars for the Japanese! Add to that, Japanese dealers pitch,“Don’t forget, we give America jobs. We build our cars here and hire Americans to build them.” Yes, they assemble SOME vehicles here. And this makes people think,“Hey, they’re built here. They’re American.” That sells millions of their cars. But the reality is: MOST Japanese cars we buy are built in Japan and shipped here by boat. But no matter where a car is assembled or its parts come from, what counts most is where the profit on it ends up. FACT: every year Japanese parent-corporations in Japan reap BILLIONS from vehicles sold in America. Yes, 31% of their income comes from the U.S.(See Google) And these billions benefit Japan, NOT America! We’re Japan’s cash cow! This, despite almost 50 million here with no health care, 37 million in poverty, 12 million kids hungry each day, 77,000 bridges close to collapse, highways crumbling, inner-city schools deteriorating, and unemployment 9% and climbing. Michigan’s is almost 13%! And we feed Japan? In return, can we build and sell cars there? Nope! In ‘08 they imported a puny 10,000. But they sold us 3 MILLION!!! Fair exchange? They’ve even refused to buy apples from us. They’re fiercely loyal to their own products. In effect, they close their market to us. But they FEAST on America! And there’s another parasite-country also feeding on us: South Korea. That country sells us 800,000 cars a year but buys only 6,000 of ours. At least the Germans, who build and sell cars here, buy lots of ours. So do the French, Spanish, Italians, British, Chinese, and Latin Americans. They like our cars. Yes, we profitably build and sell cars almost everywhere but in Japan and South Korea. Anyway, it’s estimated from our “FOREIGN-CAR-I-TIS,” we’ve already lost a million jobs. And if we continue ignoring the manure, and our makers lose more market, estimates say up to 3 million more jobs will be lost. And some predict with domino effect it could be 4 million. Now as to the 375,000 or so jobs the Japanese and Koreans give us to sell and assemble vehicles, well, if we lose 3-4 million jobs as a result, that’s OK? And now that Chrysler is in bankruptcy, and GM headed there, the Japanese and Koreans are like circling vultures waiting for something to die. Shall we just let them take over the proud American industry we invented and built for the world 100 years ago? NO! NO! NO! A new, stronger GM and Chrysler will emerge. And Ford is becoming solid again! Last month the company outsold Toyota! Maybe we’re waking up. Yes, hopefully, we’re realizing that now more than ever we need to support our own companies. MILLIONS OF OUR JOBS ARE AT RISK. Support America’s economy! BUY OR LEASE AMERICAN! P.S. Please pass this message on to as many people as you can! |

My wife drives an Infinity and I drive a BMW. We have owned American cars in the past and we will never own another American car. They suck!
The American auto industry has nobody to blame but themselves for this mess. Nobody is going to buy an overpriced piece of crap. Doing so in un-American. |
