Govt is Broken

Unfortunately, our Govt, at every level is broken. Instead of compromise and making a concession on disagreements, they would rather point fingers and blame the other 'party' and wait for the next election in the hopes their party will be in control and then the games start again.

Both Dems AND Reps are to blame, NEITHER party is for the American people, NEITHER party is willing to compromise and do what they have been ELECTED to do. Instead, they are owned by big business, special interest and answer to lobbyists instead of WE THE PEOPLE.

There are rare exceptions to this generalization, however, a rare exception is discomforting. EVERY incumbent politician of EITHER party should be voted out every November until the Garbage Dump we Call Washington DC has no more garbage.

It was a crime a few years ago to try to influence congressmen, by gifts or money or politically! What happened to that law! These lobbyists are a billion dollar business today! Every congressman gets what ever they want from the lobbiests. These people should be banned from doing this again, because we all know that they cave into the goodies that are supplied by these schills! Make it illegal to influence a member of congress in any way! Afterall they are suppose to work for the people that ELECTED them!

when members of congress, especially those "good ole boys" who have been members for too many terms, are no longer beholdin' to big oil, and big business, then, and only then, will you see progress take place insofar as alternative energy, alternatives to the use of gasoline to run your vehicles, etc., etc.. so, get used to exxon making huge amounts of profits, and ceo's making huge amounts of compensation, because, nothing is going to change unless, and until, one hundred percent of eligible voters get angry, and put these politicians out of office. will that happen? i doubt it....

Robert Armbruster regretably fails to let us in on where, exactly, he gets his information about the CIA's "succeses" that the agency's covert nature apparently prevents the rest of us from receiving.

I'd assume that, being so privy to information ordinarily denied us, he is indeed a high-ranking operative within the organization. However, Newsday stipulates that any such affiliation appear along with the letter writer's name and town.

It's also unfortunate that he wasn't given space to explain why only the CIA's excesses, crimes, and failures should predominantly escape this top secret designation, rather than its successes. One would think quite the opposite would be the case.

...if the only way to get government to act is to lobby strongly with gifts and other forms of enticement, can we really consider our nation a democracy?
