vote for whoever you choose, but for the record, Scott Brady picked up his petition first and stated he was running for the seat of Eliot Bloom. Glenn Sloat picked his petition up after Scott and did not initially declare which position he was running for. I assure you Scott is not in the race to help Eliot win.

So much gossip and no facts. Do you have any factual information as to the "Larosa/Bloom/Alcus/Gella r" association you imply exists? Is Alcus running???? don't get what he has to do with the school budget. hate him all you want but this has nothing to do with him. there is no big conspiracy. the biggest problem with our school budget doesn't lie with the board. they're doing the best they can with nothing. the problem lies with funding by the state and the fact that we have little commercial business in our town. good sam pays no school taxes, st john's no school taxes, all "not for profits" no school taxes. guess who pays 92% of school taxes? us! move to bay shore, hauppauge, brentwood. they have funding from the state and lots of industry. they pay far less in school taxes than we do. but we choose to live here and so we should be part of the solution not the problem and we shouldn't be pointing fingers.

the economy sucks for us all. people are losing jobs, facing pay decreases, loss of benefits. me too. It makes us bitter and angry. the only thing we get to vote on that affects us directly is the school budget. get the facts before you make choices you and your children may come to regret.

the difference between passing the budget as adopted by the board and a contingency budget is very little. so you will pay nearly the same amount whether the budget passes or not. you will not get the same services. if the budget doesn't pass and the board adopts a contingency budget, we lose more teachers, all sports but varsity, music programs, art programs and more....please make an informed choice. don't believe me? that's ok. go to the public budget meeting next week.

your from brentwood soo...Maresca is a nice guy so is Sloat not experienced enough to run on a board..although well intended we need people who know the district, know the schools, know the teachers and administraters...you cant blame two people for fiscal problems..my vote goes to

Scott Brady
born and raised
involved all aspects of community, Paws, West Islip Summit coalition, youth services committee, coached baseball, coaches football involved with PTAs and has 4 children 2 Graduated Two in district...he know what needs to be done and what is going on. graduated from district himself..know how district was, knows how district should be!!!!

Ubfortunately the others dont have his experience or involvement !!!

VOTE SCOTT BRADY PUT THE "TRUST" BACK IN TRUSTEE

First of all you are wrong on every account and perhaps before you post you should check your facts. Go to district Scott Brady was the first to put in his paper work for the seat..so if anyone takes away votes it would be Sloat who was last..also suspect the Sloat would run same year the bus route is slotted to be changed any go down Raleigh..Hmmm makes you wonder why his running.

Scoot Brady is an active member of the community for over 20 yrs. He been regulkarly attending BOE meeting, budget session, Active in community as a volunteer at the local church, youth coach, west islip summitt coalition, west islip youth services, and Paws before you slam a good man perhaps you should do your research he is not someones puppet,,he works for a well know insurance company ND IS A RETIRED NYPD SGT was integrity contrlo officer , union delegate and on plitical action committees for NYPD..he has already help change policies at the BOE, one boing all coaches must be teacher and certified...he has a proven track record and is an outstanding member of the community. He is working on grants for the community as we speeak...

THATS WHO SCOTT BRADY IS!!!!

So who is Scott Brady? From what I found out, Scott Brady is only in the WI school board election in order to keep Eliot Bloom on the board. That's right, they figure anyone who does not want Bloom on the board anymore, who are many, will vote for the other guy. But with Brady also on the ticket, he can split the votes with Glenn Sloat. Hence, Eliot Bloom stays on the board, something like 40-30-30 for Bloom. Just more sleazy scams by the Larosa/Bloom/Alcus/Gellar association.
Maybe Larosa should have been smart enough to take the Brady's off of her Facebook.
VOTE FOR GLENN SLOAT ON MAY 18th FOR WI SCHOOL BOARD AND HELP PUT AN END TO THE SCAMS.

I think the music program rocks. Whatever we can do to save the music program is what we should do. Mr. Maresca plays the flute and is for music. Mr. Brady plays the Violin and is for music. Mr. Bloom plays the saxophone and is for music. Mr. Sloat and Mrs. Larosa have great voices and are for music. Lets keep music in West Islip vote for the school budget!

Hey Central Islip, I'm sure Scoot Brady is a good man as is Glenn Sloat. But it is time we get some new representation on the school board. Brady is friends and associates with Larosa. It would be more of the same. We need people that will think outside the box like Sloat and Maresca. We are in difficult times and that is not changing anytime soon. We need people that are not in it to do favors for each other. At a time like this, we need people with new ideas that are really out there to support US, the taxpayers and community. Larosa is more of the nonsense we have had for the last 3 years and Brady is right behind her. Many of us in this community don't like the connections. It is time for change. It is time for Robert Maresca and Glenn Sloat!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone but Bloom as far as I am concerned. We need people who are able to take out their common sense, and apply it when all else seems just plain old wrong or doesn't make sense. We need integrity and character, which I see is sadly lacking with some board members both past and present. So to say that regular run of the mill WI people are needed here would be an understatement. We don't need the very self important, Oh Oh teacher pick me, pick me,eager beavers from elementary school days, jumping out of the seat to add one more attention seeking position to their cache. Nominate someone if that is what it takes, but go out and encourage upstanding people that are really likeable and fair minded in this town. Seriously, get rid of the ones who have been there so long that they have actually sprouted roots, give someone else a chance for crying out loud. Only a few ego minded people stay there too long, like they aren't planning on leaving anytime soon. Guess what though, it's is time already!!!!!!

it's interesting that you think some people have stayed too long. the person running unopposed is the person who's been there the longest. both eliot & annmarie have only served 3 years. far less than george has served.

Exactly my point. I still don't want Bloom there. I don't have a problem with Annmarie, she seems good. She came in only a little while ago and she seems like a good person and knows fair from unfair, right from wrong, and about common sense. Just because he is unopposed means nothing to me. There are loads and loads of very viable options in terms of people, and like I said, we should nominate people so that it can get the ball rolling for other options and choice when their seats come up.

Good to see everyone getting along. The problem is that if Bloom and/or Larosa get in then it will be back to going behind closed doors. Sloat and Maresca will not let that happen. Brady will just do what Larosa says. We need transparency and there is no doubt that would come from Sloat and Maresca!

You make some excellent points. Especially about the passing of the budget. But it is fact that Larosa, Bloom and Gellar were big supporters of the Jim Alcus campaign. Larosa helped run it and gave some big donations. Bloom was the campaign lawyer and still is a Alcus lawyer. With all the stuff the community is now learning about Jim Alcus, how could their associations with him not be a bad thing? We don't want that kind of stuff on the school board. Alcus does not believe in transparency so why would they? Robert Maresca and Glenn Sloate are not associated with this kind of fraud. Stay away from those who are.

The deal is that Bloom and Brady are second cousins and want to take votes away from Sloat. Maresca was put up by Larosa so no one else would run. Smith needs 6 more years to be eligible to be in the school board hall of fame. Also known as the "21" club. Sloat and Maresca used the same tailor and Bloom and Larosa have been hanging out a couple times a month at various schools in the district for the past three years. Smith was Marescas financial planner and told him to use Geico so he could save money on his car insurance. Brady gave George a commission. Sloat was jealous and threw his hat into the ring after Larosa bought him the hat. He then handed out State farm Flyers on the car windshields and Bloom decided to change insurance companies as well.
