West Islip Gets Small State Aid Bump
With state lawmakers working to approve New York's 2013-14 budget, new state aid figures show West Islip will be getting a minor increase over initial aid projections.

That's just enough to cover Simon, Duffy and Burns's "stipends" for the upcoming year.
By calling their salary increases "stipends" the boe is able to tell you that they haven't given these employees a raise in years. But they have, they just refer to the increase as a "stipend".
