I read Nicole Fuller's Westbrook's Fond Farewell article in Newsday last week. Any idea who the WISD administrator was that had to accompany Ms. Fuller to the event so she wouldn't interview any WI residents not of the district's choosing?

I wasnt there but I would think because it was a school event on school grounds they would have to be escorted around. If it was indoors they wouldnt be able to just walk in and walk around by themselves. I didnt see anything wrong with it and they interviewed people on both sides of the issue.

Closing two schools is not normal. One school, yeah, it happens, but two?

The district definitely tries to control the narrative.

Both sides of the issue, which would be the one side, who's members obviously allowed the districts dollars to fly out the window uncontrolled, and the other side who must now suffer the poor fiscal management and fall out, as a consequence.

What issue? Who said there was anything wrong with it? Geez, not too defensive now. Since you weren't there--your own admission--let me clue you in that there were dozens of people who attended this "school event" that had no connection to Westbrook whatsoever. They were fed, they danced and were welcomed with open arms. Oh and they didn't need an escort either. If the district was so worried about strangers at the Westbrook event, why didn't they supply security to screen all who entered the event and ensure the safety of the students? I certainly hope the parents of all WI students find it ironic that a Newsday reporter would need to escorted to a school event that required all children to be accompanied by a parent, but the district isn't concered enough about their students to bother to check to see that the "teachers" they employ have NYS teaching certificates!

How are they employed if they have no teaching certificates, and what's more, they are letting more than a dozen teacher go, who have teaching certificates?

That's the 6 million dollar question every WI resident should be asking our BOE: How are these "teachers" being employed by our district as teachers if they don't hold a current teaching certificate?
Don't be surprised if their answer is that they'll get back to you on it....

This is not the first time you have dropped this bomb on this site. Where is your proof? You seem to know something that the rest of us dont but are unwilling to share.

If it is true, do tell!

Bomb? What bomb? What are you talking about?
If you are referring to the discovery made by our own school district that a dozen or so of the people teaching our children (aka teachers) don't hold a current NYS teaching certificate I wouldn't call it a bomb. I'd call it just another colossal error on the long list of colossal errors made by our current BOE. Yes, another colossal error being paid for by the students and taxpayers. Don't hold your breath waiting for an admission by the BOE, it'll never happen.

I guess I won't hold my breath waiting for your proof either. Where was this discovery made and who made it? You seem to know but wont tell and here is the only place I have heard this.

Did you really expect our BOE to write an article about it for Patch? Gee, I guess they're going to make an announcement at the next BOE meeting---NOT.
Please do hold your breath while waiting for a name.....I really couldn't give a flying crap as to what you do or don't believe.
